Wonderful restaurant - couldn’t recommend a visit here more highly. The most delicious twice baked soufflé and rib eye steak but many more delicious options on the menu. Good wine list. Fabulous service. Definitely book a table and go!

In this farmhouse their dishes tell a story and they do so both through explosions on the palate and through the location, professionalism, competence and courtesy of the staff. If you want to live a positive experience not to be forgotten, Calagrana is the place you need to stop.

Yet another fab meal at Calagrana last night - the risotto with fresh peas was particularly delicious. We have been fans for many years now and never tire of going. Friendly, prompt service, and lovely views of the Niccone valley from the dining terrace. Albi’s particular specialties are his risottos and ice cream parfaits but the menu as a whole is well balanced and changes seasonally. Don’t hesitate - treat yourself and go!

Calagrana is a real highlight of the region and an absolute personal favourite. Not only is the food some of if not THE best you will have in the area, you will enjoy your meal in an idyllic intimate restaurant with sprawling vistas of the surrounding Umbrian farm land that make you feel like you’ve been dropped into a landscape painting. Menu highlights include; The Truffle and Pecorino soufflé - quite possibly one of the most delicious things you’ll ever put in your mouth - light delicate and crispy soufflé that’s presented to you with a generous topping of black truffle shavings, pecorino and a molten cheese sauce that I cannot keep count of the number of times I’ve ordered and will continue to order this stunning dish. If you want a feast of truffle then the creamy truffle Tagliolini is a must! Or if it’s on offer the Rigatoni with a rocket pesto is a dish full of classic yet exciting Italian flavours. For the carnivores - no one does a Grilled Rib Eye Steak like Chef Albi! Beautifully charred and cooked to perfection. Seasoned beautifully and dressed with a blend of garlic, herbs and confit tomatoes that can be complimented perfectly by a bottle of the house red. The food is just one aspect of this restaurant though. What really brings all the parts of Calagrana together is the hard work and dedication of the staff and the welcoming family atmosphere created by Husband and Wife team Albi and Ely. As well as always delivering impeccable service, great food and delicious drinks, taking the time to have a conversation with wonderful people is when you really get the full benefit of Calagrana. I’ve been coming here for years now and recently while planning a wedding. Just mentioning this to Ely she was right on hand straight away no questions asks and honestly could not have done more for us unless she walked us down the aisle herself. Calagrana have really welcomed me and everyone I’ve brought there like family and that along with everything else this amazing restaurant has to offer is exactly why I will return again and again.

For anyone who hasn’t experienced Calagrana, it’s a must! The location, food, ambiance’ and staff are a treat. The go-to in the area for special occasions, romantic evenings or a relaxing and delicious Sunday lunch. Niccone Valley’s best!

I can’t begin to describe how much I love this restaurant. We have come here many many times but yesterday organised for 30 of my closest friends and family to attend as a pre celebration to our wedding. Every one of my guests are amazed by the food - the cheese truffle soufflé is TO DIE FOR!!!! The steaks are incredible and cooked to perfection! Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff couldn’t be more attentive! Everyone was completely blown away. There is something so special about what Ely and Albie have created here - and although this sounds cliche - I feel like I am instantly at home when I walk up to restaurant! I can’t thank them enough for the special memories they have given to me, my family and friends Book in advance - it is SO WORTH IT!

How you take bruschetta to another level I do not know, but Chef managed it. So pleased we managed to eat here before they were closed for a full weekend catering elsewhere. Wouldn't have missed for the world. Felt like family, treated like Royalty. Would return to Italy simply to come back here.
