Ristorante Aroma at Palazzo Manfredi In Roma

My husband and I ate at the Aroma Restaurant. The view is simply wonderful, a beautiful experience, admiring the Colosseum, even if we live in Rome it is always beautiful. Panorama aside, there were some things that in our opinion, given the level of the restaurant, should be revised a bit. We don't like the fact of the double shift, there is an extremely high mark-up on the wine list, the location itself is not beautiful (obviously excluding the view). The food is good, but again given the level of the restaurant I expected something more. It is a Michelin star restaurant, with a purely tourist vocation.

A spectacular place, the experience, although expensive, is very memorable! If you have the opportunity to attend, preferably do so at night to enjoy the illuminated coliseum!

Romantic location with excellent quality food. Fantastic desserts. Good table service but to be reviewed especially in the first part of the evening which I consider chaotic (too many waiters at the same time and after having communicated verbally to three waiters via e-mail and before dinner about my allergy to fish, the chef's greeting to me reserved actually contained fish. Furthermore, the table was too small for all that goodness).

Beautiful restaurant and impeccable service. The food is not surprising, and I don't think it's worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

Great experience in Rome. We loved the menu, the service and THE VIEW to the Colosseum!! wow !! The desserts are in another level … simply GREAT.

The experience met expectations, both in terms of the menu and the service provided by the staff, which, combined with the view that speaks for itself, makes it a unique moment to crown your visit to Rome! If you can, you will never regret it, as it lives up to the Michelin star it holds.

The utterly stunning view makes the evening worth it, but the rest could be a lot better. We were dead set on this restaurant for the Colosseum view, which was indeed breathtakingly spectacular. And the food was also very good and quite creative. However, the reservation experience was a shambolic nightmare (even with direct intervention by our hotel and two long-distance calls by me). We also found the service pretentious at the apex but very good with the "seconds". Pricing was high and the portions small, as reported elsewhere. But you knew you were someplace special, the evening was a treat, and we did not regret going.

On a recent trip to Rome, our family booked Aroma for myself and my wife. A Michelin star is a good start. I think they have about 20 tables, and we had one with fantastic views of the Colosseum, all tables do have a view. We chose the Signature tasting menu. We seriously enjoyed it. In addition the chef sent out some nibbles at the start which were exquisite. A lentil type soup and a selection of delicious breads were provided which were not on the menu. All of the main courses were faultless. Presentation was 100%. Recognition of my wife’s birthday was nice, I noticed about 3 guests occasions being celebrated also. A small gift from the chef on departure was a nice touch. We spent almost 3 very enjoyable hours here. The cost of dining in such establishments is increasing to a ridiculous level. But if you are here, you can obviously afford it. For us it was a special treat for a special occasion. However the price of some add-ons are questionable. The first interaction when we sat down was the production of the Aperitif menu, with prices of a small glass, very small, of champagne at €35 each. The cheapest bottle of wine was €95 I think, they did have a good choice. A bottle of water at €10 is ridiculous. In summary, we had a fantastic meal. The staff were all friendly and attentive, without being on top of us all night. If you are happy to spend €300+ each, you will not be disappointed.
