Excellent experience with quality raw materials, we took the mixed starter of the house and a Florentine accompanied by an excellent bottle of Mondianese ruché. The desserts were also very good, we were offered passito. Friendly and thoughtful owner. Welcoming and clean place, price appropriate to the service and quality.... super recommended

The location is a little expensive

For those who love life, they also love good food and here is the place to love good, very rustic food with intense and not heavy flavours. The ragù called 1946 is extraordinary with minced fassona and pork sausage from the Cunese area, all rigorously chopped by hand in just one word (and lots of it)

August 2024: We were in the small but fine restaurant Il Giogo for the second time today. Rather inconspicuous from the outside, the interior surprises with its barrel vault and simply but elegantly set tables. Everything is very well maintained and tidy, the table linen impresses with cloth napkins in light colors, all the seats are equipped with beautiful cutlery and pretty glasses. The chef had chosen a great menu for the highest festival in Italy, the “Ferragosto”: • SGONFIOTTI WITH CRUDO DI CUNEO AND TOMINO ALLA COMPOSTA DI FICHI • BATTUTA DI FASSONA • AGNOLOTTI QUADRI PIEMONTESI AL RISTRETTO D'ARROSTO • RISO CARNAROLI ALLO ZAFFERANO E ROBIOLE • TAGLIATA DI TOMAHAWK PIEMONTESE CON PATATE • PANNA COTTA CON COULIS ALLE FRAGOLE We paid 40 euros per person for the menu and a total of 120 euros including water, a bottle of rosé wine from the Cascina Terra Felice winery and two digestifs. We give a clear recommendation for the restaurant Il Giogo, a real insider tip in a small town near Castagnole Monferrato and just a few minutes' drive from Asti. October 2023: We had a lovely evening with good food at Restaurant il Giogo. The Piedmontese starter was very good, the meat (Fiorentine/steak) came on a hot (grill) plate (hot stone). Initially the degree of cooking was raw, but with the hot plate you could prepare the desired level of roasting at the table. The dessert was really homemade and excellent - we had tiramisu. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating; Price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, we really liked the wine. In summer, when you can sit outside, we'll come back :-)
