A charming local family run restaurant. We visited twice and both times we were served promptly and the food both times was delicious. Definitely felt like food nonna would make. Very good value and deserves a visit.

Tavern "like it used to be" with friendly staff. Top-quality, tasty food cooked in a traditional way. Super fair bill. The best place to eat in the center of Pompeii 💕

The food is fantastic, very hearty and flavorful dishes. We went on a Monday and my friend and I were blown away by how good it was. The carbonara was spectacular.

As almost all the reviewers have already said, so I don't want to be repetitive, even if the place may look like it's from the '80s, imagine going to your uncle's house (in this case, Uncle Lello) with slightly dated furniture, but on the other hand, you know you'll eat well, you'll be welcomed and served with warmth and friendliness, and lastly (but very importantly), it's very cheap!!! Recommended? Highly recommended!!!! And it's also very close to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Pompei. We will be back, as promised to the owner Lello.

Centrally located restaurant, super low quality and prices, 1 generous spaghetti with clams, 1 fried prawn and calamari with green salad and water, for a total of €20, really nothing.

Ristorante Pizzeria Al Casolare

15/02/2026: We visited Al Casolare for a birthday party with over 60 guests. The indoor dining room is bright, tidy, air-conditioned, and the tables were beautifully arranged. The outdoor space, with tables and chairs surrounded by lemon trees and fruit, was much appreciated. The large, free indoor parking was very useful. The menu included mixed appetizers with a platter of cured meats and cheeses, prosciutto crudo, mizzarella, and Italian-style fried food. The two first courses were excellent: risotto with sausage and mushrooms, and gnocchi stuffed with cacioricotta. We continued with broccoli rabe and sausage, cooked to perfection. The staff was extremely friendly and always attentive to guests' requests. A special mention goes to the young chef Guido, who prepared the dishes to perfection. Excellent value for money. We will definitely be back to try the other house specialties.
26/12/2025: There were 11 of us at the 2025 Christmas lunch, everything was exceptional from the starters to the first courses, the second courses and desserts, excellent hospitality as always, plenty of good food, I recommend it now and it's been a year since this new management of this restaurant and pizzeria makes the difference from the old managers, even the pizza is delicious
