We'd heard good things about this trattoria, and I must say our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. A genuine place, one where you immediately sense the atmosphere of old-fashioned cooking, without frills but with plenty of substance.
We started with the house antipasto: a lovely selection of small tastings of local produce and vegetables, all flavorful, authentic, and carefully prepared. Each dish spoke of the region, simple yet full of flavor.
On the waiter's recommendation, we then chose the first courses, and what a perfect choice. The Genovese was rich, fragrant, and well-crafted, while the ragù with tomato sauce and minced goat meat had a bold, intense flavor, the kind you won't forget. The trofie with walnuts and lard were also excellent: creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
For our second course, we had a perfectly cooked roast veal, incredibly tender and uniquely flavorful, accompanied by a generous and well-made mix of meats. Quality meat, cooked to perfection.
To round out the evening, coffee and amaro, as tradition dictates. All this with a perfectly reasonable bill, in fact, more than fair for what we ate.
An authentic trattoria, where the food is truly good, leaving you full and satisfied, and eager to return. Highly recommended for those who love authentic cuisine, the kind that warms the stomach and the heart. 🍷🍖🍝
