I just had an absolutely delicious pourover coffee here made by Mary. She really knows her stuff. The views while enjoying the coffee we're also 10/10. It was a hot day in August! But there was a nice breeze. Absolutely worth it if you love filtered coffee and want a great option in Rome.

A friend took me here, and it was a pleasant surprise. If you love unconventional, yet delicious cuisine, this is the place for you.

The COOLEST place we visited on our trip to Rome! Great, contemporary menu. Great cocktails. And an AMAZING terrace with views in all directions. Wonderful service too! There are places where you dine and places that leave a lasting memory. Retrobottega undoubtedly belongs to the latter. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday (my fiftieth anniversary!) with the people closest to me, and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Located on the top floor of the charming Rhinoceros Hotel, inside the Palazzo Rhinoceros – Fondazione Alda Fendi, Retrobottega is a unique destination in itself. We had the privilege of dining on the panoramic roof terrace, reserved for our group: a spectacular terrace with a 360° view of Rome that will leave you literally speechless. The view extends from the Forum Boarium to the Arch of Janus, from the Temple of Hercules Victor to the Palatine Hill, the Altar of the Fatherland, the Capitoline Hill, and the rooftops of the Eternal City. At sunset, when Rome is bathed in warm colors and the lights begin to come on, the view becomes simply magical. The cuisine lives up to the location. The tasting menu is a succession of contemporary dishes, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, capable of surprising with sophisticated combinations and unexpected flavors. Each course reflects a continuous gastronomic exploration, where technique, creativity, and respect for the ingredients coexist in perfect balance. No single dish stands out: the entire experience is designed as a coherent and engaging sensory experience. Special praise goes to all the staff. Despite my mistake regarding the number of guests (I had indicated one person too few), every detail was handled with absolute ease, efficiency, and great professionalism. Their great availability was demonstrated even in the weeks leading up to the event. The entire organization was handled via email, and every request I had received was timely, courteous, and always focused on finding the best solution. Impeccable organization allowed us to enjoy the evening without a single worry. I'd like to extend a special thank you to the professional waiter who looked after us from start to finish with elegance and discretion, representing the true essence of hospitality. All my guests were thrilled, and it's rare to find a unanimous opinion, yet it happened: everyone praised the quality of the cuisine, the atmosphere, the view, and the professionalism of the staff. Great views of rome and really nice atmosphere. The only thing is there is not a lot of options for breakfast. If you want a quick coffee and pastry then go here for the views. If you want brunch, there are not a lot of options. Food was decent, coffee was great.

Service is warm and welcoming. The food was both delicious and innovative - it's a tad more difficult to find the place which makes it even more appealing in the end when you finally land on the 5th floor. Amazing views. Love the social table concept. Will definitely be back at other times of the day since they are open from morning till dark.

Amazingly delicate food with excellent wine pairings. This is a special place with excellent service. We had the Sabotage tasting menu which is worth every penny. The staff know the food and wine they serve inside out. We were in the safe hands of Francesco and Georgia who made our meal more special with their knowledge. And the added bonus is the amazing view.

I had dinner inside with a friend, and it was an extremely pleasant evening. The view is breathtaking, the social tables are a wonderful idea, and the food is unusual in a very positive way. Vegetarian dishes that would convince even the most skeptical, flavor combinations that require trust to be fully enjoyed. The menu is very interesting. The service...a perfect blend of hospitality, professionalism, kindness, friendliness, and expertise. Noah and Alessio accompanied us throughout the entire experience. The outdoor terrace is a dream, and the overall atmosphere makes the place both exclusive and welcoming. You feel right at home!
