Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa In Barga

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel for a week at the end of March and had a wonderful time. Admittedly, the hotel is a bit off the beaten track when it comes to popular tourist destinations like Pisa and Florence. However, it's situated in a quiet and beautiful location on a hilltop with stunning views across northern Tuscany. The tourist hotspots are easily accessible by car, making it a great base for exploring the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating at all times. I'd especially like to commend Giada and Claudio, who went above and beyond to attend to our needs throughout our stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious. The breakfast buffet is served daily from 7:00 to 11:00 and offers everything you could want; only additional egg dishes are available for an extra charge. The hotel features a gym, a swimming pool, a sauna, and a steam room. All of these facilities were clean and spacious. In the summer, there's also an outdoor pool. There was more than enough free parking available nearby, and additional parking is available at the hotel for a fee. Two charging stations and an emergency charging point are also available in the parking area. The hotel is very spacious, both inside and out. If you're able to walk a lot, this isn't a problem, but people with limited mobility should be aware of this. At the end of March, the hotel wasn't really full, which we really appreciated. It can certainly get busier during peak season. For background information and to better understand this review – I stay in approximately 80 hotels worldwide each year. My Marriott Titanium Elite status was valued and appreciated at the Renaissance Hotel.

Fantastic hotel in lovely grounds. Incredible service from their staff and a delightful terrace restaurant overlooking the pool and surrounding countryside. I’ll definitely return. Highly recommended.

Beautiful accommodation with meticulous attention to detail, very kind staff, suggestive view of the valley, very well-kept and well-finished rooms.

The location is nice, but the atmosphere is a mixed bag (some corners are completely run-down, while others are very nice). Some rooms are a joke – we moved from a smelly, unventilated room to a normal one. That was fine afterward. The food was good and plentiful. The parking lot is quite a distance away, which can be rather inconvenient for someone with mobility issues.

Huge place, impeccable service. Excellent food.
