Loved it! This restaurant was literally outside of our hotel and we went there on 2 different nights, the food was amazing, the staff were very nice and even the owner greeted us on the second night. I recommend the potatoes skin and the chicken Caesar salad for starters, and the braised beef, the carbonara and the sea bass spaghetti for main course. After reading many reviews we tried their famous Nutella cheesecake and I can say it was delicious

My husband and I traveled to Rome for Christmas last week and we stumbled upon Pupina as it was around the corner from our hotel. A week later, we are still talking about this place! The food was amazing, my husband ordered the Nutella cheesecake and I regret not ordering one for myself as it was so good. I loved the calm atmosphere and the manager and waitress were kind. I knew we were in for a pleasant non-touristy dining experience when there were locals that came in. I’d highly recommend this hidden gem and will be back if my travels ever bring me back to Rome!

01/06/2026: Il Falchetto has only been around since 1916. In Roman ageing it is a relatively new restaurant. Our waiter has spent a miserly 29 years keeping patrons happy! Somehow, given the short lifespan of Il Falchetto, it has found its rhythm - relaxed and reliable. The classic puntarelle antipasto was crisp and well dressed with a subtle anchovy and garlic combination. The curled chicory leaves soaked in the anchovy and garlic emulsion made for a great digestive starter. We followed this with lamb chops served with cicoria ripassata which is always a good pairing. Well worth a visit.
