I've had this place on my bucket list for a while, and I finally stopped by yesterday. Just one taste was enough to know it's definitely going to be one of my favorites. The pizza is truly excellent, with quality ingredients and a memorable dough. One of those places you leave already thinking about when you'll be back! ❤️

"Prima la materia" is truly a place to return to: 1. For the QUALITY of its offerings, which always focus on the use of seasonal vegetables (I've never found pizza alla vignarola anywhere else—a unique Roman side dish made with vegetables that are available for a few weeks each year) and carefully selected ingredients. 2. For the UNIQUENESS of its offerings (to give just a few examples: pizza with leek, lemon, and caramelized onion; double-sided pizza with fresh tomato and smoked provola on one side and onion rings on the other). ! ATTENTION! There's no shortage of classic options. There's the timeless white pizza; a red pizza with a garlic and parsley marinade that's unacceptably good; and a wonderful pizza with baked potatoes and rosemary. In addition to the pizza slices, there's always: - An extra dish: usually a soup of the day, otherwise replaced by other interesting options - An interregional/international selection of fried foods (supplì, falafael, and cecina are a must) 3. For Marzia and Carlo, who run the place with a special kindness and generosity. Furthermore, the fact that they aren't vegetarian but that their food is vegetarian is a further sign of the ethical choices that underpin their business. You can buy Gaza Cola here, the cups and placemats are recyclable, and the pizza trays are made of wood. I'll conclude by saying that I'm not someone who spends time writing reviews on Google Maps, and I didn't know these people before discovering this pizzeria. I think it's worth taking the time to describe a place where you can eat well in an extraordinary way.

Super cute place, extremely kind and helpful owner. Huge selection of pizzas, and most importantly, delicious! Super fair prices and lots of mouth-watering vegan pizzas. We'll definitely be back!

Three visits to this pizza-by-the-slice shop, both for dining in and takeout, and it's been absolutely flawless! The pizzas are excellent: both soft and crispy, and generously topped with fresh, high-quality vegetarian ingredients. For me, they are simply the best pizzas by the slice in Rome. As a bonus, the service is top-notch: the waitress is remarkably kind and always offers helpful advice. I highly recommend it! 😋 Grazzie Mille!

There's little to say: the pizza chef is an artist. The flavors I've tasted here I never thought existed.

Great place with a massive variety of pizzas, and the taste was very good! As someone who doesn't know much about pizza, I really appreciated how kind and helpful the owner was. They walked me through the options and helped me choose the perfect slice. Highly recommend!

I'm a regular customer now because it's one of the few pizzas I can't stomach. Excellent quality ingredients and original toppings. My favorite is the lemon and zucchini one, but also the pumpkin or radicchio, walnuts, and gorgonzola ones. The soups are also good... It's a small place, but the pizza is superb; it's worth it!
