Historic restaurant in a central location. Discreet and professional service in a welcoming atmosphere. An à la carte menu with beautifully presented dishes and high-quality ingredients. An interesting wine list. A small private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. Reservations are recommended.

06/04/2026: Easter, we went up during the opening of an exhibition at the Sala Veratti in Varese. It was packed with guests enjoying the food and the festivities. The lady, presumably the owner, found us a lovely table for two and, understanding our craving for lunch, but with Easter's unpredictable speed, she indulged us by bringing us one of the most delicious hand-chopped tartares with raw artichokes and parmesan. A wonderful surprise and a wonderful Easter.
02/04/2026: I really like "Il Ceppo"; I go there every now and then when I hike to Sacro Monte. The dishes are good and traditional, but today I was very surprised because I paid almost €20 for two bruschettas with tomatoes and Cantabrian anchovies, which I thought was too much compared to places like the one before, which require more work and expensive food. It's a real shame that you can't have a simple meal with a glass of wine.

12/04/2026: If you’re in Italy and craving pizza, Pizzeria Angolo 53 is an absolute must. I went in expecting it to be good—because, well, it’s Italy—but this completely blew past expectations. This wasn’t just good, it was perfect. Honestly, 5 stars only because 6 isn’t an option. The standout? The pistachio pizza. Completely insane in the best way—such a unique, rich flavor and just an overall “wow” experience. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t even think twice.
