We were greeted very warmly. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only flaw with the mixed fried fish was that they served completely cold and raw shrimp, describing it as fresh. After pointing this out, they immediately remade the dish, specifying that the shrimp were cold because they had been frozen, as you can't always have fresh fish. What a shame.

Today I had lunch at the Porta Marina restaurant, in the heart of Catanzaro's historic center, and it was a truly exquisite experience in every way. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, thanks to a management team that puts passion into every detail. The service is impeccable: friendly, attentive, and smiling staff make you feel immediately at home. The kitchen, led by a highly talented chef, offers delicious dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors, showcasing local tradition with a touch of care and love. A place where you don't just come to eat well, but to experience true Calabrian hospitality. Highly recommended!

Truly friendly and kind, they should all be like that, a unique welcome, with a smile on their faces even though my friend and I showed up at the last minute (10:30 PM). Everything was delicious, they managed to serve us hot and super delicious meals. Highly recommended!!!!

More than a dinner, it's an experience, a journey through exceptionally high-quality dishes. A smile is always guaranteed thanks to the owners, people impossible to copy, and that's precisely why Porta Marina has always held a place in my heart, despite having been to hundreds of places. A special mention goes to Danilo, an extraordinary person who has been passionate about his work his whole life, juggling between a culinary tip and a joke to liven up the evening. This restaurant should be included in a tourist guide among the city's must-see attractions. NUMBER ONE

In una bella location, in questo ristorante ho trovato un servizio amichevole e professionale. Ho pranzato meglio di quanto mi aspettassi, in un ambiente fresco e accogliente ma soprattutto a un prezzo più che ragionevole. Lo consiglio sicuramente. A presto.

Ristorante carino e accogliente, personale competente e gentile. Cibo di buona qualità e ben curato. Buona la focaccia offerta insieme alle polpettina di pesce. Gustosa la milleoglie di melanzana, spada e bufala, e anche l’antipastodi porta marina con salumi, mozzarella pomodori secchi, melanzane e olive. Buoni gli spaghetti cozze e vongole , piu’ gustose le linguine con le alici. Fritto un po’ deludente. Buona la spigola in crosta di patate. Ottima proporzione qualità prezzo. Discreta la carta dei vini. Da consigliare

29/07/2025: I remembered it being good, but the last experience wasn't what I remembered... we booked at 9, we sat down at 9:30... we ordered almost immediately, but we started eating the fries an hour later and the pizzas at after 11... so much so that my friends wanted to leave... the rotisserie was good, the arancini very crunchy, and the sliced potatoes were very good, but the pizzas were quite salty (or tasty as some would say)... plus, a couple of cockroaches were running around the tables undisturbed, and no one asked why my friend and I were jumping from the table along with some other guests from other tables! I ate curled up on the chair! I understand that we're out, I understand the seaside location... but not even that!! It's good, but I'm sorry because I remembered it better!

31/08/2025: We had a very pleasant evening at this pizzeria: the crunchy pizza was excellent, carefully prepared with good-quality ingredients. The fried foods were surprisingly light and flavorful. The service was quick, organized, and friendly, ensuring a dinner without long waits. The only thing that could be improved was the ventilation in the dining room, which was completely lacking on a warm evening, making the atmosphere a bit stuffy. Overall, a place worth trying.
31/08/2025: Superb pizza, excellent dough, among the best I've ever eaten, the selection is deliberately limited, the ingredients are top-quality, the service is very fast, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Congratulations, we will gladly return. Antonio Guaragna
