Restaurant in the historic center of Sestri Levante with many rooms even if the style is a little outdated but still welcoming! Lots of friendly staff and great food....I recommend it!

A typical place in Sestri Levante where the quality of the dishes and the service make for excellence. Even though I didn't book, I was welcomed very politely and a solution for two people was immediately found. The service is very friendly and professional with attention to customers and their satisfaction. The courses are good in quantity and the preparations very pleasant, with attention not only to authenticity but also to presentation. A good "house" wine produced in the area is the right accompaniment. The price is quite high but adequate for the style of the place. *UPDATE February 15, 2025* Unfortunately, confirming the good food and excellent service, I remove a star from the environment because often "rude" customers leave or enter the restaurant leaving the door open and if you are hosted at the tables near the entrance it is not pleasant to feel the stabs of cold air coming in from outside while you are eating: it would be enough to adapt the door with an automatic closing system. I believe that with a few euros this inconvenience could be solved.

Very casual place, like a trattoria, all fresh food with excellent, not abundant portions... well with a delicate and fresh taste, recommended for those who love fish...

We had a Sunday lunch at this restaurant on a weekend in March and really enjoyed it. We tried the tuna tartare with artichokes and plain as a starter and the first courses with sea urchins and shrimp as a first course. All surrounded by excellent service. Simple dish but with good portions and impeccable tastes. Two starters, two first courses and a half bottle of wine €105. Recommended place!

Entriamo attratti dalle numerose recensioni positive e dall'atmosfera retrò. Locale vuoto alle 12 e tutto esaurito dopo 1h. Ci servono per primi. Spaghetti ai frutti di mare decisamente mediocri, in bianco con pochi frutti e slegati, deludenti. Ottimo invece lo spaghetto con carbonara di mare e tonno affumicato. Buono il polpo fritto. Porzioni giuste, non abbondanti. Coperto 3 euro esagerato considerando le 5 striscioline di focaccia che ci hanno portato al posto del pane. Non ci tornerò.

Nous avons goûté deux plats : un poulpe préparé de manière classique et des carbonara au thon, qui étaient tout simplement extraordinaires. Nous recommandons vivement ce dernier, une véritable réussite ! L’accueil était à la fois chaleureux et professionnel.

17/01/2025: I'm rarely in the area, and I've been meaning to stop for a taste for a long time; the name is very well known in the city, and as always in these cases, I hope that the premises are not disappointed... The place is extremely elegant and tasteful: not only does it almost clash with the surrounding environment, but it really feels like being in a Turin cafe!! Wholemeal with raspberries and Venetian with zabaglione. The dough and the puff pastry are truly exceptional, as is the raspberry jam (minus the zabaglione, an often 'difficult' cream of which I have rarely found the exact form, but still good). The only comment I feel like making is the opulence: if I have excellent ingredients, pushing on the quantity doesn't necessarily improve the result, even from a banally 'mechanical' point of view; I believe that between the greed of certain Genoese restaurants and too much, there are virtuous middle solutions :-)

La Cantina degli Abissi

13/01/2025: I got married here in July 2024, everything was fantastic starting from the magical location, up to the welcome from Giuseppe and all the staff, really friendly and extremely professional. It is a vineyard right behind the sea, it seems to be in Tuscany but instead you are in Riva Trigoso, a truly unique thing! I couldn't have made a better choice.
01/01/2025: Location unica in mezzo ai vitigni. Abbiamo festeggiato l'arrivo del nuovo anno con amici in una splendida atmosfera. Cucina e servizio fantastici. Vini strepitosi...in particolare, secondo mio gusto, lo Scimiscià (cimixa) L'Antico. ...ormai tappa fissa❤️💙
