Pizzeria Pino In Bologna

24/02/2026: What a wonderful find on Via Mezzofanti in Bologna! A unique place with a truly pleasant atmosphere. What struck me most was the open kitchen right in the dining room: eating while watching the chefs at work adds a unique touch of authenticity. I was also delighted to see a former colleague of mine as the chef again! ​I had a wonderful time: I ate one of the best salads I've had in recent years, truly thoughtful and fresh. The desserts on display also deserve special mention, an irresistible temptation. ​The place is tastefully decorated: there are individual tables as well as a large table, very bright thanks to the large windows. Even the less obvious details are striking, like the original and meticulously decorated bathroom and the counter below. The staff were welcoming and the food excellent. I'll definitely be back, highly recommended!

30/01/2026: 5 stars, but the review isn't positive. Working in the industry, I've always criticized those who leave negative reviews when things aren't going well, but don't write positive reviews when everything was as expected. That said, I've been there a few times. I live in the neighborhood, and it's one of the few options for aperitivo in the area. Everything has always gone more or less smoothly until this last time, and I was surprised. We arrived after dinner, were greeted at the door, sat down, and waited for someone to look at us before ordering. We had to call for our order after a few minutes, trying to catch the eye of one of the two or three waiters. After the first round, no one looked at us; they seemed more preoccupied with closing time. It was a particularly slow evening, but there's no excuse for inattentiveness towards customers. We went to the counter to ask for a second round, and so far no problem, I can understand. A friend of ours arrived, and it was 10:30-45 PM. We ask him for a drink and take the opportunity to order another round. No one looks at us even though someone else had sat down at the table. We call the waiter again, and this time I go specifically to ask the bartender for a special request. The drink is excellent. We finish our round, and at 11:15 PM we try to order another round, but we can't continue our conversation because they were already closing, even though the closing time was supposed to be midnight. As I said before, it's not a positive review despite the 5 stars. Good drinks, quality products, average prices, but disappointing service and an overall negative experience. I'll be back to see if even negative reviews with 5 stars can have a positive effect.
