25/03/2024: Excellent experience at Trattoria Marano, a historic reality with over 125 years of experience. The restaurant has a large internal room with windows overlooking the lake (it is located a bit on the hill going up from Calcinate), but the real gem - when the weather permits - is the external veranda, with a wonderful and peaceful view from above on the lake. The menu is typical lakeside (many options with freshwater fish), all cooked in a simple but tasty way. We loved the chestnut gnocchi with radicchio and zola, slightly less so the asparagus crepes (the béchamel prevailed over everything). The final pampered and pistachio cake is spectacular! Correct prices (average bill €30-35 each with two dishes each, house wine, water and coffee), family service (the owner is legendary, advanced in age but with an iron memory of orders and incredible precision in service) . The reserved parking outside is also convenient, although not that large... if you don't arrive late you can easily find a place. Until next time!
