Pizzeria Grotta Azzurra In Verona

A thoroughly positive surprise on our family vacation! We were warmly welcomed and were allowed to sit down at an undisturbed table in the air-conditioned (luckily, because it was still over 30°C outside) interior. Due to the numerous pictures of the 50cm long pizzas, we also had to buy them and convince ourselves of their good rating. And what can I say: my expectations were exceeded. The pizza (Rossa) melts in your mouth, doesn't skimp on ingredients and ensures a unique eating experience. And all of this for a very good price of 15 euros (which can definitely feed 2-3 people). Many locals gradually arrived, which confirmed the impression that city experts also come here regularly. The service was courteous, polite and the food arrived after 10 minutes. Gladly again at any time :)

Real pizza made and cooked properly. Fresh, quality ingredients and cooked in a wood-fired oven. Really good staff and pizza chefs. I recommend it as a lover of good pizza.

Una buona trattoria con prezzi da trattoria. Ci siamo fermati per caso. La pizza davvero ottima. La pasta era criccante . Anche gli spaghetti erano buoni. Il conto eccezionale. Una pizza farcita, un primo piatto (di terra), mezzo litro di vino e un sorbetto : 25 euro. Il personale è gentile. Il locale è spartano, ma è il suo bello.

Everything as you expect from the outside.

We were here in Verona for a two weeks work. Sometimes we had to eat in this side of Verona, and we were suggested to try this restaurant and pizzeria. People are friendly, they help you with a simple menu. Not a lot of choices, but you can vary your dinner, or your lunch. Pizza is good; meat is good, pasta is very good, also the prices are very good (certainly they're not expensive). Italian taste is guaranteed: the place: simple and tasty.
