Pizzeria Da Donato In Bari

A lovely little restaurant in a nice neighbourhood. There is a very large choice of pizzas, so it became difficult to even make a decision about what to choose, but the pizza and desert was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is definitely worth a visit if in the area.

A historic restaurant. The pizza is good, even if it doesn't have a more refined "gourmet" variety with top-quality ingredients. I think some of the pizzas could be a little different. I emphasize the good service because a waiter—I don't remember his name now, but I know he's been working there for about 2 years—realized that they'd assigned a table for 4 and there were 6 of us, so he moved us as soon as a larger table became available. I give the owner Donato a 0 because while we were drinking limoncello, he asked us to hurry up because he had to seat 14 people and therefore served our table!!!! I won't go into further detail because the wait for the appetizers, if you will, was really long, and then we were kicked out. But no, I'm not.

We've eaten here twice now, and both times were highly recommended. They have a great selection of wood-fired pizzas and delicious desserts. Both times it was very busy, so it's advisable to make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The service staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A must-visit when in Bari!

Nothing to complain about the pizza and appetizer, both delicious: the appetizer would be enough for a dinner, so generous and delicious, the thin-crust pizza is light but truly flavorful, everything perfect. The only flaw was having repeatedly witnessed the head waiter's aggressive remarks toward the waiters, truly exaggerated and inappropriate, which made me and my friends feel uncomfortable.

Good food, warm and cozy atmosphere

Everything was perfect, a historic Bari restaurant where the food is truly delicious. The motto, "You'll be our friends first, then our customers," is truly upheld. I highly recommend it.

We booked a table for two in advance, and when we arrived, Mr. Donato seated us without a wait. The place is clean, with friendly and prompt waiter service. The gorgonzola and sun-dried tomato pizza was very good, as was the capricciosa pizza. Wide selection of pizzas. I'll try them all. Fair prices.

We randomly chose the pizzeria, as it was just a few meters from our accommodation. We got a brutally delicious, thin crust pizza. The older waiter jumped around us, and then we even had a chat with one of the owners after we praised the food. It's worth arriving at opening time (7:00 PM), because it gets crowded later. Not by chance :)

The entire staff was friendly and cool. The food was delicious and surprisingly affordable. They're open until midnight, but guests arrived just before that time and were still served and given food. One waiter was asked if they weren't closing soon, but he replied very coolly, "Oh, we're flexible." One of the owners said, "We don't see our guests primarily as guests, but as family who should feel comfortable." I've never experienced such friendliness. Keep up the great work, you guys are fantastic! If I'm ever in Bari again, I'll definitely come back. Bravo! 👌👍👏🫶🏼
