17/06/2026: We came to Felice a Testaccio on the recommendation of one of the managers at Uovo in Los Angeles, who told us that their tiramisu was inspired by this restaurant in Milan / Rome. We first visited the Milan location at the end of our wedding trip two years ago, and when we returned this year, it did not disappoint. In fact, it may have been even better than we remembered.
One thing we appreciated was the flexibility with our lunch reservation. We were able to be seated midday without issue, though reservations are strongly encouraged and seem essential during busier times.
We also enjoyed that the restaurant offers different daily specials throughout the week. On the Tuesday we visited, there was a seafood special that sounded excellent, but not quite enough to tempt us away from the Roman classics we came for.
We shared the cacio e pepe and the amatriciana, and both were excellent. The portions were generous and very filling, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the flavors were outstanding. The service was attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. On a Tuesday afternoon, we found ourselves surrounded by locals enjoying business lunches, which added to the authentic feel of the experience.
Overall, it was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Milan and a restaurant that more than lived up to our memories. If you’re a fan of Uovo in Los Angeles, you’ll almost certainly love Felice a Testaccio.
31/05/2026: A nice, well-maintained, and trendy place.
Despite a reservation, we still had to wait for our table to be prepared once we arrived.
The dishes, while good, were served and collected with the rush of someone eager to get rid of you, so much so that we asked if they could take away our appetizer while we were still finishing it!
In short, a nice place and good food, but avoid if you want a 2-3 hour dinner without constant interruptions from the wait staff.
