The location is reminiscent of a tavern. It has a large seating capacity. Minimal table setting.
The menu is varied and interesting.
We had some very good appetizers: both the crostoni with chicken livers and, especially, the cheese platter. I tried the polenta with gorgonzola and truffle, which was very good; the same goes for the Milanese cutlet, although it was a bit too dry.
The wait staff was very friendly and the service was quick.
Fair prices.

The glass of wine must be poured at the table, damn the bases. Otherwise you could put anything inside.

A very nice little place with good food and attentive waitstaff! The Stewed Beef with Polenta was perfect. My partner got the Eggplant dish that I don’t recall the name, but was tasty as well. Prices seemed reasonable. Atmosphere modern but warm. Wine selection is well curated.

If you seek for authentic local cuisine, fresh ingredients of the best quality, great service, good portions and overall good value, look no further. I was there with 3 friends a couple of weeks ago and got amazed with their porcini and grana salad, tartare di fassona, risotto allo zafferano and cotoletta alla milanese. Although we were too full for dessert, we were kindly offered crème brûlée and tiramisù to share, both of which were delicious. We especially appreciated the owner checking on our table several times to ensure everything was perfect. We truly felt at home and well taken care of. Five stars for a wonderful experience.

The star of the menu: Risotto alla Milanese with ossobuco
This dish is a must-order at Osteria dei Vecchi Sapori.
Highlights:
The Texture: The saffron risotto is to be commended for its perfect creaminess and al dente texture, maintaining the high standards of Lombardy tradition.
The Meat: The veal shank (ossobuco) is the real winner,
"tender enough to fall off the bone." It's slow-cooked to perfection, soaking up its rich juices.
The Marrow: For an authentic experience, the bone is served with its flavorful marrow, which adds a buttery depth to the rice.
The Portion: Prepare yourself: the portions are very generous.
The Verdict:
If you want to savor the soul of Milan, this is the place to be. It's a rich, hearty dish.
Tip: Since the dish is quite full-bodied, I recommend pairing it with a glass of robust red wine from their local selection.
Really excellent, must try.
