Nothing to say about the atmosphere, but the staff was terrible... sitting at the table, we ordered croissants and the waitress didn't even ask if we wanted coffee or anything else to drink and after 10 minutes nothing had arrived, considering it was a Wednesday morning and the pastry shop was half empty... we left in despair.

Excellent patisserie, especially the pastries. At aperitivo time, they offer small platters with crostini, pretzels, and olives, paired with cocktails. Their signature drink, the Apollo11, is good, but a little too sweet for my taste—almost cloying, I'd say. Table service is quick and courteous.

A mustang from Varese, excellent aperitif and delicious desserts, not to mention the Apollo... the aperitif you absolutely must try. A beautiful terrace in the heart of Varese.

Mission Apollo 11: From 1969 to the Present Day The American Moon landing was, without a doubt, the most significant event of my childhood — something I realised a long time ago. In 1969, I was eleven years old. Living in the middle of nowhere in the Soviet Union, it was then that I began to slowly understand: the world was much broader, deeper, and more interesting than we had been led to believe. At that same time, in the Italian town of Varese, people at Café Pirola were looking up at the sky with that same sense of wonder. Riding the wave of this global awe, they created the Apollo 11 liqueur, which was later "blessed" by the legendary Buzz Aldrin during his visit. And so yesterday, decades later, I finally made it to Pasticceria Pirola. Raising my glass, I took my own personal micro-flight. As Neil Armstrong famously said: “That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” My step to the bar counter yesterday was small indeed, but for that eleven-year-old boy back in 1969, it was a true milestone and a long-awaited "docking" with a dream. A massive thanks to the Americans for their bravery and expeditions, and a big cheers to the Italians for this "liqueur memory" of the great Apollo 11! Regards from Tallinn, Estonia

We stumbled upon this café by chance today and were completely satisfied. The cappuccino was so delicious that we ordered another round. They didn't skimp on the Nutella on the croissant, and it was very buttery and fresh. All the little cakes were also fantastic, and our son was thrilled: "Especially for kids!" 😊 Overall, the service was friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating is pleasant when the weather is nice. The restroom was also clean.
