I happened upon them one evening, and besides the divine food, they made me feel right at home. Excellent service, super attentive to detail and respectful. I recommend them to anyone who wants to experience a royal experience while also feeling at home.

Exceptional food. Welcoming and quaint location. The staff were helpful and friendly, especially Mario, who served us at our table. He was very polite and kind, and paid great attention to the customer's needs. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied; it was a truly enjoyable evening, and I highly recommend it.

We had a delicious meal here. The ragu with wild boar and ruby chocolate was very tasty, and my partner had the ribeye steak with potatoes which was cooked perfectly. House red was €5 for a generous glass. Mario, our server, was great! Atmosphere was a little quiet, however I would put that down to being 9pm on a Sunday night. Would definitely recommend as a non-tourist spot.

The restaurant is a bit hidden, so you could say it's a hidden gem. It serves classic dishes; I wouldn't say the portions are small, but rather that it's closer to bistro fare, and the quality-to-price ratio is excellent. There are two dining rooms, one at the front and one at the back, so don't be alarmed if there's not enough space.

Excellent restaurant, the Chianina Florentine steak and the chef's special dessert are a must. Mario looked after us and gave us friendly and courteous advice, making us feel like locals rather than tourists. Highly recommended if you want quality food.

I very much enjoyed my bistecca alla fiorentina at Osteria del Tegolaio on my last night as a solo traveler in Florence. Feeling the need to add more protein to my diet after weeks of lighter meals, I was compelled to try this iconic Tuscan steak before leaving town. The staff at Osteria del Tegolaio were incredibly welcoming and didn’t hesitate when this solo diner requested the legendary bistecca alla fiorentina—perfectly grilled with a charred exterior, rare and juicy center, and pure, simple beef flavor as I’d hoped. I was delighted by the attentive service, delicious meal, and relaxed, low-key atmosphere in the heart of Santo Spirito. My only small regret: I wished I had cash to tip, and the QR code on the business card didn’t link to a virtual tipping option—which is why I’m leaving this review instead. Thank you, Mario and team, for a memorable final Florence evening!
