Picchio Verde In Gubbio

Delicious meal. Simple hearty food!!!!

Unmissable! Exceptional typical cuisine in a fourteenth-century restaurant renovated to crown the atmosphere of the alleys of Gubbio. The owners are very kind and super competent. Fast and attentive service. Excellent value for money. We returned twice in 4 days because we enjoyed it so much. If you are unsure about what to eat, ask for advice or alternatively taste everything because you won't find anything to complain about.

The structure is an old barn from the 1300s, very characteristic, like the whole historic centre, the service was excellent, the waiters were very friendly and quick, one was a little dazed by the evening and gave me 2 options, sparkling water or carbonated, natural was not among them, gags aside the food was really excellent, I recommend their starter, truly exceptional, I recommend the place hands down

Sapori autentici, l'antipasto della casa sfizioso, ottimi anche gli strozzapreti al tartufo e il maialino. I dolci perfetta conclusione. Servizio veloce e attento.

Very good food, from starters to side dishes including off-menu items. Informal atmosphere, sometimes a little chaotic but super hospitable.

We had lunch at Picchio Verde on the 24th of August. The service was good, the food too. The room was poorly ventilated but bearable. The only downside is the bill: you cannot charge for two plates of penne with sauce, €10 each. Furthermore, on the menu it is specified that the cover charge is €3, while on the receipt it says €3.50 (as well as water). A dispassionate piece of advice: for dishes not on the menu (like the children's menu mentioned above), I recommend indicating it on the menu anyway, so that you can decide to take a dish and divide it for two, given that small children are unable to times, to finish it. To finish the dessert, tiramisu and Chantilly cream: good but nothing more.

Abbiamo pranzato lì in 6 (4 adulti, 2 bambini) e un cane. Il personale è stato si. Da subito gentilissimo sia con i piccoli che con il cagnolino (al quale ha portato una ciotolina d’acqua). Il pranzo è stato veloce e la qualità del cibo nella media. Abbiamo ordinato due antipasti (salumi e formaggi) e la famosa fonduta al tartufo: gradevoli, forse da migliorare la qualità dei salumi. Per i primi abbiamo optato per le tagliatelle al tartufo (6-) e i ravioli al brasato (6). Dolci buoni, consiglio la crema chantilly. :)

We came last night for dinner at this family-run restaurant at the suggestion of friends who had already been there. We wanted to eat local products and dishes and we left with a satisfied palate and a heart full of gratitude for the great welcome of the staff. Il Picchio Verde is a place where upon entering, you are overwhelmed by smiles and kindness... because when a job is done with professionalism and love, customers feel it and appreciate it. The dishes are plentiful, the house red wine is excellent and is served at the right temperature. The menu is essential, without frills but of "substance". We relied on the waiters who were able to advise us in choosing the dishes. We tasted an excellent typical platter, two first courses, guinea fowl and grilled meat and to finish, a tiramisu and tozzetti... the cost was very, very honest, having spent less than €85 for two.

New Year's Eve dinner went beyond all expectations, everything was delicious and the owners were very friendly (highly recommended)
