Everything about this dinner was perfect. Great local spot with traditional Italian food. The lamb and Guinia foil were excellent. Do try the namesake Picchilo Verde appetizer plate (safe among two people) homemade ravioli was amazing. Pistachio cake was chefs kiss to end the meal. Very affordable. Was super busy, but the service was still outstanding.
We did have this dish, but sat next to the open fire where steaks are cooked. Smelled so delicious

We were completely satisfied with the dinner!
The service was prompt and very courteous; the restaurant is located on the ground floor of a historic building, and the rooms have very impressive high ceilings.
We enjoyed every course, from the appetizer (the green woodpecker) to the desserts, including the first courses, especially the tagliatelle with truffle.
In addition to the dishes, we ordered two bottles of water and half a liter of wine, for a total of €30, a bill we found very reasonable.

Restaurant in the historic center of Gubbio.
Very traditional menu.
Excellent, generous dishes at a reasonable price.
For two of us, we paid €45 each for one appetizer, one first course, two truffle-flavored second courses, two desserts, and one bottle of wine.
Everything was excellent, including the truly professional service.

I went today at 12:30, without a reservation.
But it's Monday.
I don't know about other days.
We ate a platter from Picchio. Cured meats, bruschetta, and fried vegetables.
I found the ingredients to be very high quality. Two first courses: cappellacci with pears and walnuts, and agnolotti with braised meat.
Both were good.
The portions are generous.
Water, 1/4 cup of fragrant and aromatic white wine, and 1 coffee.
50 euros well spent.
The cover charge is cloth.
The service is fast and courteous.
Luckily for me, the atmosphere is friendly and light.
There's no need to boast to make good food.
Gubbio is worth seeing, and worth eating.
