Osteria Tronca In Massa marittima

One of the best restaurants I have been to recently. Amazingly good prices for the service, the beautiful ancient location and the wonderful food. The menu is full of creativity and pairings that I had never seen and tried in my life that I found very experimental, bold and truly delicious.

We stumbled upon it by chance, after a walk in Montioni, a welcoming and warm place. We went for lunch with our dog, the staff was super friendly with him too, the food was EXCELLENT! very high quality of raw materials.. We ate very well!!! We will definitely see each other again!

The restaurant is located in a small street in the historic center of Massa Marittima, very close to the cathedral. We are talking about the historic centre, so there are no car parks or services suitable for everyone, but all the restaurants in the Italian historic centers have the same problems and the same "difficulties" (they are not suitable for disabled people with wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties and toilets are "adapted" as best as possible, but what makes these places unique is precisely the charm of the structure itself), however nearby there are many paid parking spaces or if you want, with just two extra steps you can also find free ones . Having made this necessary premise, let's talk about the restaurant. It is located under one of the historic buildings of Massa Marittima, beautiful and very well looked after, with spaces designed to give diners privacy and romance, truly a one-of-a-kind place. The dishes served (photo menu) are typical Tuscan cuisine with some modern touches, there are also vegetarian dishes available, always linked to the tradition of the area. We tasted two appetizers (charcuterie platter, crostini), two first courses (a pappardella with wild boar sauce, a pici cacio e pepe with beef tartare), a second course (larded pork fillet with a side of zolfini beans) two coffees, a sparkling water and half a liter of house red wine, all for €95. Dear? Well I would say no, given that in the area the prices are almost the same, plus you have to take the location into account, both for the position and for what was said above, it is a very well kept and looked after place. A round of applause goes to the guys and the owner himself who take great care of their customers and are ready to satisfy any need. Having said that, let's also look at some "imperfections" or precautions that perhaps an external eye can provide. As regards the location, the steps located inside the bathroom should be better and well signposted as the door opening towards the inside makes them a little dangerous, an unsightly signage is better than a disastrous fall. As for the dishes, a little more attention given that the pici cacio e pepe become sticky and cold if served "late", the same thing goes for the pork fillet which is served in 10 minutes, a sign that it has already been cooked and even if it is heated to "melt" the lard inside it is cold and very dry. Although the dishes are still good and I will gladly return, it would be better for the price paid to wait a few more minutes to taste the dish at the right consistency and temperature. They are small details, measures that make the difference. I recommend it to everyone (taking into account what was said above), a place to include in your favorites list.

We came to this restaurant several times with my family and we were never disappointed, varied menu, excellent dishes, wide choice of wines, friendly and kind staff. Very good Peposo!!! We will definitely come back again 😊

Lo abbiamo scoperto per caso, in una domenica fuori porta...Un locale caldo e accogliente incastonato in una storica struttura. Elegante e curato nei dettagli, ma informale. Cibo del territorio, con ricerca delle materie prime e moltissimi piatti a km 0 cucinati nel rispetto della tradizione ma quel tocco di innovazione "non arrogante". Il personale, giovane e attento, ci ha fatto sentire coccolati. L'oste cortese e pronto a scambiare due chiacchere ma con discrezione e professionalità. Insomma, una vera osteria! Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è eccellente. Sicuramente torneremo!

17 novembre 2024: pranzo in famiglia in un contesto meraviglioso ma la bellezza del posto non è l’unica cosa positiva . I piatti della tradizione di ottima qualità , porzioni abbondanti e un eccellente servizio. Alessio radioso ed accogliente . Complimenti, tutto eccellente dall’ antipasto al dolce .
