02/02/2026: Spectacular welcome. Excellent food.
I recommend the meat, which is exquisite. In the summer, it should be wonderful with outdoor seating. In the winter, it's cozy and tastefully decorated. The owner's father welcomed us with a smile on his face... perhaps because we were with a dear friend of his? But I don't think so... both he and his son are truly wonderful.
31/01/2026: From the outside, it doesn't look very appealing.
It's a bit out of the way, to the point that if they hadn't suggested it to us, we probably wouldn't have even entered.
For a moment, we wondered if it was really open and if we should open the door.
And finally... fortunately we entered.
Inside, the space is beautiful, warm and fits perfectly with Matera. They took us upstairs, where there were already customers, and from there everything went very smoothly.
The boy who served us was friendly, relaxed, willing to explain without style, without rushing.
The food was what you expect to eat here. Local cuisine, well-cooked, with flavor and substance. Nothing supposedly touristy.
The wine was an excellent choice. It was called Akratos, a reference to ancient Greek tradition. The pure, undiluted wine that, according to the ancients, only Dionysus could drink. Strong, full, with character, and perfectly tied to the dishes.
And the dessert came at the end simply and properly, without exaggeration, closing the meal beautifully.
An experience that stays with you.
We would go again without a second thought
