The mortadella meatballs were cold inside and not fresh. The service was mediocre. The cacio e pepe pasta was good, though.

Ristorante La Francigena in Bolsena is a spot that really delivers on both food and atmosphere. The red house wine was fantastic—smooth and on the sweeter side, not dry, which made it easy to enjoy with every course. The gnocchi with pears was a refreshing surprise, perfectly balanced between savory and sweet, and the portion was generous enough to leave you fully satisfied. The pizza was another highlight, bursting with flavor and cooked just right—crispy on the outside without being overdone, the kind of crust you look forward to with every bite. It’s one of those places where the combination of good wine, great food, and the relaxed setting makes you feel like you’re getting an authentic experience of Bolsena. Definitely worth adding to the list if you’re in town.

Good food, excellent service despite the large number of people at the tables

Nice place, even if it's not really a place because we were outside in the middle of the village streets, but it was very nice. We had pizza and we chose the meter-long version, where you can choose three flavors every half meter. Good, crispy and dry, everyone liked it, and the waiter's recommendations were excellent.

Excellent osteria tucked away in a back alley. The pasta is delicious. And they also have great gluten-free pizzas.

Abbiamo scelto questo ristorante perché era l' unico che non imponeva un menù fisso per il pranzo pasquale. In realtà quel giorno il menù è stato ridotto, ma questo non ci ha impedito di trovare piatti che ci piacessero. I pici ai sapori del lago e quelli con asparagi e pancetta erano davvero deliziosi, ma abbiamo apprezzato anche il filetto di coregone e lo spezzatino di cinta senese. La location è abbastanza suggestiva, con salette molto strette che ospitano pochi tavoli. Conto leggermente alto ma giustificato dal fatto che si trattasse del pranzo pasquale.

Essendo in vacanza nella zona del lago di Bolsena, abbiamo deciso di prenotare all'osteria La Francigena. Il locale è in centro a Bolsena, semplice ma carino. Il servizio è veloce e preciso. Nota di merito per i pici cacio e pepe e l'ottima trippa. Comunque tutto ciò che abbiamo consumato era di buona qualità. Prezzi nella media della zona.
