A truly lovely and welcoming place, the owners are very kind and helpful, the food and service are excellent, and the prices are reasonable. If you happen to be in the area, stop by and try their delicacies.

Hospitality, courtesy, helpfulness, food...I could go on and on...in short, in a nutshell...everything is IMPECCABLE!....A family-run location in a small square with a wonderful view of the valley....A lovely little place inside, but eating out is essential for me, and I opened this place right here, in April...the best time of year, for my tastes.
A special thanks goes to the owner, GIULIO, hospitality personified, practically perfect, empathetic, precise in explaining the various dishes, but especially in accommodating, even on holidays, those with food intolerances, a rare thing these days! Our experience was extremely positive. Although there wasn't any availability for dinner (our fault for not booking in advance given the holidays), they managed to fully accommodate our needs with their takeout service. Spectacular cuisine, friendly staff. Acqualoreto was our stop on the Silent Villages trail, and we were warmly welcomed.

I agree with many of the reviews I've read.
What's most striking is Giulio's kindness and empathy from the moment you speak or chat with him via WhatsApp to make a reservation. He immediately makes you feel at ease, at home; very kind, informal.
He seems to do this job out of pure passion!
Seven of us were here for Easter 2026 and... we were lucky enough to be able to eat outside... in the quiet of the Acqualoreto square.
Easter menu but à la carte, ideal for those who can no longer keep up with the fast pace of food... but that doesn't mean we didn't go all out. :-)
Excellent Easter appetizer with crostini (truffle and liver pate), savory Easter pizza with cured meats (ham, sausages, capocollo, corallina), offal, hard-boiled eggs, arugula with dried fruit, and... as if that weren't enough, he also brought me a sample of sausages with grapes and fennel (delicious), which I'd been thinking about as a second course but had "discarded for something else," so... he kindly brought them to me to try.
There was a wide selection of first and second courses: we opted for tagliolini with truffle (and plain for the little girl), tonnarelli with cheese, pepper, and truffle, pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and 2 lasagnas with artichokes and sausage.
And then for the second course, 2 excellent larded guinea fowl, 2 lambs with artichokes.
Dessert: Easter sweet pizza with chocolate from a huge Easter egg that they kindly let our two kids break.
4 Coffees
1.5 liters of excellent house Sagrantino.
And... I usually never bring it back... but paying only €30 per person for all this... seems like the prices of those authentic places from another era.
I think I've found one of those "favorite" places to return to... I always love variety and never return to the same place unless something special happens.
So... Giulio, Roberto (a guy from Perugia who moved to live right there... in a small town like Acqualoreto, which alone is worth a visit for the pleasure of a stroll through a timeless village) will definitely see you next time... see you soon.
And good luck... well-deserved votes (NB: nothing to do with the previous management... the one that between 2019 and today took over for a few months in place of the excellent Giulio and Gemma (and Roberto and his partner who you will find in the evenings during the week)).

Just spent a carefree Sunday. This is an authentic osteria! The choice is from a selection of dishes, beautifully presented by Giulio, a young, welcoming and very kind owner, and well-cooked by his wife, with flavor and few frills. We will gladly return! BRAVI

A wonderful experience! From the very first moment, you can feel the magical atmosphere and the intimate setting, perfect for a special day. A special thanks goes to Giulio and Gemma: their warmth and hospitality made us feel truly pampered, like we were at a friend's house.
As for the food, the quality is excellent: the cured meats and cheeses are simply top-notch! The first courses are rich in flavor, and the second courses are exceptional; an honorable mention goes to the guinea fowl, cooked to perfection. To finish on a high note, I absolutely recommend their tiramisu. We can't wait to return!

I was taken there by a friend and found it to be a quaint and pleasant place. We were welcomed like family and found the dishes very tasty. It's a worthwhile place both for the quality of the food and for Giulio, the owner. If it's not crowded, you can spend some time chatting with him. It will definitely enhance your trip.
