We had lunch at this osteria, and overall the experience was very pleasant. We had ordered three first courses, two of which were the same, but unfortunately there was a small mistake in the kitchen and we received two identical first courses... but of a different type than the one we ordered.
Despite the unexpected event, the staff was truly kind and helpful: they immediately acknowledged the mistake and, to apologize, offered us dessert. A simple but much appreciated gesture, which shows care for the customer and a desire to make them feel welcome.
Mistake can happen, but how the situation is handled makes all the difference, and here they did it with great courtesy! We'll gladly return 😊

I should start by saying that I discovered this place thanks to the recommendation of a dear colleague, who recommended sumptuous dishes, well aware of my strong predisposition for culinary experiences based primarily on local traditions.
The osteria is located just steps from Piazza della Loggia, a strategic location that's very easy to reach, yet discreet and secluded.
The place is truly beautiful, a blend of typical osteria decor and a touch of class, making it particularly warm and bright, perfectly harmonious in a discreet and intimate atmosphere.
The menu offers a good selection of dishes, and the customer's choice seems free yet balanced. A good selection of wines is available, with a wide selection of local wines, including reds (which are excellent, by the way), which might seem like a mirage to a newcomer to the Brescia area.
The dishes are truly tasty, with special mention for the meats, cheeses, and truffles. It's rare to find truffle-based dishes in the Brescia area, and for an Umbrian customer like me, it can certainly be a significant test. It passed with flying colors. The truffle shavings are of undeniably high quality and fresh, and owner Gabriele certainly doesn't skimp on them.
There's a wide selection of homemade desserts, mostly traditional, albeit with a few twists (I'd mention the tiramisu cheesecake, which is truly interesting).
The meal concludes with another wide selection of amari, although the choice falls squarely on local staples, namely the excellent 030 and Amaro del Farmacista.
Gabriele and his wife love their work: it all emanates a constant sense of family harmony, a management approach that eliminates the risk of the so-called (and sad) "tourist-catching restaurant" that, alas, always risks being a reality in a city like Brescia.
It's a joy to have discovered this place.
I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes, and I encourage anyone who comes across these reviews to do the same; I think I've amply explained the reasons.
Congratulations, keep up the good work!

If you had only one restaurant to go to in Brescia THIS IS THE ONE! Everything about this place embodies the beauty of Italy and this city, amazing people, food and atmosphere! I felt very welcomed and at home here and the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The horse tartare was the best I’ve ever had in the entire world! You will not regret coming to this restaurant and I guarantee you will want to come back again and again! Please do yourself a favor and visit these wonderful people! Everything is prepared with love and respect and you will never forget the experience! I can’t wait to come back again and thank you for hosting us so well! ❤️

Osteria La Colonna is one of the very few truly traditional places still alive in the historic center of Brescia, and that alone already makes it special. It feels like a small time capsule in a city that is slowly changing. The restaurant is family-run, warm, and genuine, and you can really feel the passion behind every dish.
They focus on authentic Brescian cuisine, simple flavors done right, carefully prepared by the chef and his wife. Nothing is pretentious, everything tastes honest and homemade. They are also very open to small customizations, which makes the experience even more personal and welcoming.
My personal favorite is the beef tartare with egg and truffle, the truffle flavors are incredibly fresh and rich, easily among the best I’ve had. If you want to understand the real taste of Brescia, not a tourist version, this is one of the first places I always recommend. Cozy atmosphere, kind service, and food made with care, it’s the kind of restaurant you keep going back to.

An intimate and welcoming place. Everything was delicious, from the starters to the main courses and desserts. Excellent value. The self-taught chef delighted our palates. The friendly and attentive service was also excellent, and we even received compliments from the waitress for always being a smiling guest. It was a true pleasure. A smile and kindness cost nothing. Thank you so much for your passion!
We will definitely be back!
