Wir genossen ein grossartiges Dinner im romantisch abseits gelegenen Il Principe e Il Pirata. Allein das kleine Modellboot auf der Terrasse ist schon ein Eye Catcher. Ebenso die phantasievoll gestalteten kleinen Kacheln, die in die Esstische eingearbeitet sind. Die Pasta mit Thunfisch war in sich rund, wenngleich der Fisch ein wenig "trocken" daherkam. Noch trockener war das Schwein mit Tarte Tatin. So schade, dass die Italiener es nicht so mit Saucen haben, das Schwein hätte definitiv ein wenig Sauce vertragen können. Auch die Beilage - Karotte mit Ingwer - trocken wie die Sahara! Auch das Mangoeis als Dessert hätte ein wenig Sauce - sei es Erdbeer- Minze- oder Limetten-Sauce vertragen können. So wie das Mandeleis, das mit sehr gut passender Caramel-Sauce serviert wird.

24/10/2024: We have been here several times and it never disappoints. While there are several excellent restaurants in town the menu offerings tend to be similar. At Mirko's there are always unique offerings on the menu and they are always excellent. This time one we had one of their distinctive side dishes, Sicilian oranges with onions, capers, and pine nuts, seasoned with oregano, olive oil, salt and pepper. So delicious! It is a small, family-run restaurant. The head waiter is one of the family and is entusiastic and knowledgeable. It is always excellent service, excellent food, and a pleasant experience. We are in Castellammare several times per year and always have a meal here when we are in town. When the weather is good (and it almost always is in Castellammare) be sure to sit outdoors at a table on the steps.
22/09/2024: Great food with exceptional service, in a peaceful and authentic location just off the busy street. This place was the best dining experience for us in Castellammare so far.
