Osteria il Mattarello In Castelfidardo

Last Sunday during our holiday in the area we had dinner at this nice osteria located in Castelfidardo. It offers very tasty traditional Marche cuisine with generous portions. Not a very wide choice of local wines, we chose a Rosso Piceno Superiore from the Cocci Grifoni company of moderate value, which however did not particularly impress us. The food, however, was all excellent: gnocchi and strozzapreti with sausage and pecorino di fossa, grilled lamb with fried potatoes and pork steak with Ascoli olives, grandmother's cake and trifle. A water and two coffees for a final bill of 80 Euros for two including a small and very welcome discount, to be considered truly honest. In short, certainly not a starred restaurant, but one of substance, with an excellent quality-price ratio and therefore absolutely recommended.

Domenica scorsa durante la nostra vacanza in zona siamo stati a cena presso questa simpatica osteria situata a Castelfidardo. Propone una cucina tradizionale marchigiana molto gustosa con porzioni abbondanti. Scelta di vini del territorio non molto vasta, abbiamo scelto un Rosso Piceno Superiore dell'Azienda Cocci Grifoni di discreto valore, che però non ci ha impressionato particolarmente. Il cibo invece tutto ottimo: gnocchi e strozzapreti con salciccia e pecorino di fossa, agnello alla brace con patate fritte e bistecca di maiale con olive ascolane, torta della nonna e zuppa inglese. Un'acqua e due caffè per un conto finale di 80 Euro in due compreso un piccolo e graditissimo sconto, da ritenersi davvero onesto. Insomma, non certo un ristorante stellato, ma di sostanza, dall'ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo e quindi assolutamente consigliato.

A beautiful, quaint place, excellent food, plentiful and very kind staff

Maximum attention to the customer. Excellent welcome. Handmade first courses and delicious second courses. Seasonal cooked vegetables, worth trying. One of the few times that, as soon as the last slice of bread was finished, the staff brought it back immediately. Sometimes this doesn't happen even in starred restaurants. Low prices compared to the quality. We will definitely be back. No it's not a threat. :)

Always a pleasure to have lunch or dinner at Mattarello. Always excellent traditional dishes, from the appetizers, to the first courses (strozzapreti with phenomenal pit and sausage), to the second courses, up to the desserts. The roasted potatoes are also delicious! And the dishes are always plentiful. The service is always pleasant, friendly and approachable, they make you feel at home. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of the dishes. The place is small, but super folkloristic. A guarantee!

Intimate and very nice restaurant... had a great meal... I definitely recommend going... stuffed ravioli with burrata for 10...

Food with flavors of the past, expertly prepared. Really recommended

We enjoyed their friendly hospitality very much. Food was great with incoming local crowd after 20pm. Pasta tasted homemade, the veal was perfect as we had one medium and another medium rare, was difficult to communicate but it worked out :) Tiramisu was yummy
