Osteria del povero Lele In Pavia

There were no bruschetta in the 15-euro set menu. However, for 15 euros we got so much more: Gramsci would have called this an "organic lunch," intellectual, profound, for the people. After all, what's the point of form if substance is lacking? The cutlery banged on the table, the plate swept away while you're eating, the orders to leave are just a prelude to the unique experience you can have at Povero Lele. John Cage would have described it as a "happening," experienceable only in the here and now, on the spot. And that's exactly what we saw and experienced, second after second as they took the parmesan cheese from our table. Would we repeat this experience? Nietzsche posed the dilemma well before Povero Lele: if you had to relive this life over and over and over again, infinite times, in exactly the same way, would you accept? And so we booked our next meal in the company of Lele and his honest rudeness.

At Poor Lele's, a super good and abundant business lunch. The staff and service were excellent. I had an asparagus risotto that tasted like asparagus. The ribs were spectacular, as was the side dish. Highly recommended. Go Baikers!

Generous portions, more than good food, friendly and helpful staff, it's 100km from where I live...but it's worth the drive.
