Before visiting Gubbio we stopped in this place which is a step back in time. An inn that recalls distant times when the beauty of places and people was inextricably linked to the goodness of the food. But the place and the people aren't the only surprise. Starters that are a hymn to Umbrian production. Tagliatelle with truffles that turn out to be pure poetry, in which each tasting returns a different flavor like verses that must reach the summit. Finally the "Friccò", a chicken with herbs cooked in a fresh tomato sauce, capers and a hint of spiciness, which is worth the national award obtained by its cook. What to say? For those who are from the area it is a place to visit often. For those who, like us, are passing through, it is a place to mark on the diary. CHAPEAU!

Excellent food, service and location!

Everything excellent! Homemade cuisine, nice generous portions, very friendly staff (they gave us a lot of information on places to see and even offered us a bitter!), ample free parking and despite the 35 degrees, we ate outside under a pergola with a nice breeze. .. I recommend the mushroom and truffle tagliatelle and the specialty, the chicken fricco. And finally, Mrs. Rosita, not only the cook of the house, but also the soul of the tavern, of rare kindness. Going to the Bottacione tavern is a bit like going to eat at your grandmother's. We will definitely be back!

Siam stai in questo locale perché consigliatoci dal proprietario del B&B dove alloggiavamo. Purtroppo non avevamo chiamato per prenotare ma abbiamo rischiato lo stesso. Siam stati fortunati che senza problemi il personale ci ha fatto sedere. Il locale è carino e poco fuori Gubbio. Abbiamo mangiato un antipasto e un primo ma erano abbondanti soprattutto i primi e infine come dolce i tozzetti con vin santo davvero gustosi. Personale davvero gentilissimo! Prezzi nella media! Da ritornarci!
