There were five of us: four pasta dishes and a beef fillet. We waited a really long time, which is understandable given that it was a Sunday lunch, when Ferrara was busy, but we were seated at 12:50, and our dishes were served at 2:30. The pasta was very good; I really enjoyed my pumpkin cappellacci with parmesan cream, guanciale, and balsamic vinegar. The fillet, however, was a large brick and very undercooked, even though we'd asked for it to be medium-rare. We sent it back so they could cook it a bit more, and they were kind enough to redo it from scratch, but the fillet was overcooked and salty. Bottom line: I highly recommend the pasta! Thank you!

In the heart of Ferrara, this family-run trattoria offers traditional cuisine made with quality ingredients. The stuffed pastas are handmade. The tenerina cake is excellent. It's best to get there early.

My boyfriend and I visited this historic Ferrara restaurant on a trip to sample a couple of typical Ferrarese dishes.
The pumpkin cappellacci with ragù, the cured meats, and the tenerina cake for dessert were all delicious. The rustic and welcoming atmosphere, enriched by folk art memorabilia and paintings, was also lovely.
If you're in the area, this is a place you absolutely must try.
