We had awesome evenings at the gatto re during our vacation. The owners are super nice and I had the best Bistecca alla fiorentina ever. I would always visit again!

Excellent restaurant in the center of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, among the Chianti hills. Impeccable service, lovely environment with lots of references to cats. Excellent dishes, I don't give my best only for the temperature of the cut which was not optimal but in a mixed grill it can happen. Excellent wine map!

The food is freshly prepared and the service is very friendly. The location is rustic and cozy. Vegan specials are available upon request. The tomatoes were fresh. The pasta could have been cooked al dente.

We had dinner in this tavern in the center of San Casciano. Pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, very quiet place. The dishes are good. The first courses, very good, tasty condiments, but without being excessive, I found them very balanced. Perhaps the pasta was a little behind in cooking (coming from someone who likes it al dente), but nothing excessive. The second courses were also good, perhaps the cockerel with herbs was a little too simple, excellent and super soft meat, but in terms of seasoning it was a little lacking. The Tuscan sausage and potatoes as a side dish are excellent. Closing with 3 desserts, very good. The wine we chose by the glass was also excellent, as was the bitter finish. Total for 3 people: €120, I would say a very honest bill.
