We stumbled upon this lovely family-owned restaurant that proved to be a hidden gem. Even though we arrived without a reservation and before they were officially open, the owner warmly welcomed us and let us settle in outside. While we waited, we were given complimentary aperitivos and delicious appetizers. The service throughout the evening was welcoming and genuine. You could truly feel the care and passion that goes into this family establishment. Food was absolutely delicious and wonderfully original - mixed fried seafood, a perfectly prepared seafood pasta, and an impressive mixed platter. While it might be a bit off the beaten path, it's worth the walk!

Authentic and deliciously prepared local cuisine served in moderized and tasteful vaulted rooms with countryside charm ( note the antique mirrors). A soothing jazz playlist sets the stage for a great dining experience. Artichokes served in several dishes are great choices.

Excellent seafood. Terrible frying. The wine is excellent. Brilliant service, witty staff and available for a chat. Really typical place. I recommend it for a different dinner than usual

Trieste has a hidden treasure: Ai Due Ladroni – Osteria di Pesce is a marvel! There are places that are never forgotten. Ai Due Ladroni, in the heart of Trieste, is one of those restaurants that win you over at first taste. An authentic, sincere tavern, where the sea can be felt in every dish and the welcome makes you feel at home, but with that extra touch that only true passion for cooking can give. The place is warm, lively, with that perfect mix of informality and attention to detail. The service is fast, kind, highly prepared: they explain each dish to you with contagious enthusiasm. We started with the fantastic "Polpo di Fulmine": very tender octopus, served on a tomato fondue that smells of summer, with a fresh and creamy stracciatella, and the crunch of stale bread to complete the dish. An appetizer that is an explosion of balanced and original flavors. Very fitting name: it was truly love at first sight. Next, a first course that won't be forgotten: gnocchi with mojito. Lime, mint, prawns and a hint of rum. Unusual? Yes. But perfectly successful. Fresh, fragrant, creamy. A creative, playful dish, but never excessive. Full, surprising and harmonious taste. As a second course, the mixed grilled fish: perfect cooking, very fresh fish, strong but delicate flavour. All accompanied by an unusual and delicious side dish: fennel and orange, a combination that refreshes the palate and enhances the grill. An unexpected touch that makes the difference. To conclude, homemade desserts (tiramisu above all) and a well-curated selection of wines, with local and Italian labels, expertly recommended. ⸻ In summary? Ai Due Ladroni is much more than a fish tavern. It is a place where seafood cuisine is celebrated with brilliant ideas, excellent raw materials and an atmosphere that remains in your heart. Mangiato benissimo. Tutto molto buono, dalla entree di benvenuto al dessert. Peccato per il caffè, avevano solo una macchinetta a capsule. Locale molto datato che avrebbe bisogno di una bella svecchiata

Una piccola osteria a Trieste scoperta per caso molto particolare. Abbiamo mangiato una pasta alle cozze buonissima, un branzino al cartoccio molto saporito e un fritto misto veramente pazzesco. Nota di merito per il personale, veramente fantastico. Si vede che fanno questo lavoro con passione.
