Trieste has a hidden treasure: Ai Due Ladroni – Osteria di Pesce is a marvel!
There are places that are never forgotten. Ai Due Ladroni, in the heart of Trieste, is one of those restaurants that win you over at first taste. An authentic, sincere tavern, where the sea can be felt in every dish and the welcome makes you feel at home, but with that extra touch that only true passion for cooking can give.
The place is warm, lively, with that perfect mix of informality and attention to detail. The service is fast, kind, highly prepared: they explain each dish to you with contagious enthusiasm.
We started with the fantastic "Polpo di Fulmine": very tender octopus, served on a tomato fondue that smells of summer, with a fresh and creamy stracciatella, and the crunch of stale bread to complete the dish. An appetizer that is an explosion of balanced and original flavors. Very fitting name: it was truly love at first sight.
Next, a first course that won't be forgotten: gnocchi with mojito. Lime, mint, prawns and a hint of rum. Unusual? Yes. But perfectly successful. Fresh, fragrant, creamy. A creative, playful dish, but never excessive. Full, surprising and harmonious taste.
As a second course, the mixed grilled fish: perfect cooking, very fresh fish, strong but delicate flavour. All accompanied by an unusual and delicious side dish: fennel and orange, a combination that refreshes the palate and enhances the grill. An unexpected touch that makes the difference.
To conclude, homemade desserts (tiramisu above all) and a well-curated selection of wines, with local and Italian labels, expertly recommended.

Ai Due Ladroni is much more than a fish tavern. It is a place where seafood cuisine is celebrated with brilliant ideas, excellent raw materials and an atmosphere that remains in your heart. Here you eat well, you feel good, and you just want to come back.

Incredible experience both culinary and service. They were fully booked but managed to get us a table. The food was amazing and the service was fun and attentive. Definitely worth visiting!

I had the pleasure of dining at the Ai Due Ladroni restaurant and I can say that it was a truly extraordinary experience. The place is welcoming and well furnished, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The real highlight, however, is the service: Eric, in particular, was exceptional. Attentive, friendly and always ready to make impeccable menu recommendations, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the dishes and wines. Each course was prepared with care and passion, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. Each dish was a surprise, with a rich and authentic flavor, which makes you truly appreciate the restaurant's cuisine. In short, an unforgettable evening, absolutely recommended! Thanks Eric!

Una piccola osteria a Trieste scoperta per caso molto particolare. Abbiamo mangiato una pasta alle cozze buonissima, un branzino al cartoccio molto saporito e un fritto misto veramente pazzesco. Nota di merito per il personale, veramente fantastico. Si vede che fanno questo lavoro con passione.
