When I'm on holiday, I like to try a different restaurant every evening. I willingly derogated from this rule in Spoleto, choosing C'era una volta l'osteria for two evenings in a row. The welcoming and familiar atmosphere of the owners certainly contributed a lot. Mrs. Rita is an exquisite host! Don't miss the strengozzi with broad beans, bacon and pecorino! In addition to the house platter, the braised meat, and last but not least the legendary "porcona", breaded and oven-baked pork chop with potatoes. Unmissable for the grand finale is the "cresonda", a typical Spoleto dessert. Highly recommended

Out of three evenings in Spoleto we dined there twice, won over by the familiarity and goodness of the food. From the mixed platter to the strangozzi, broad beans, pecorino and bacon to the very tasty porcona (pork coppa steak breaded and cooked in the oven). The soft Amarettosa Cresonda and the bitter Viparo were the worthy conclusion!
Everyone is kind but Mrs. Rita is more 🤗
Better to book especially on weekends. Excellent value for money.
The house wine is appreciable!
If I return to Spoleto I will know where to go!

Place found by chance by relying on Google during a visit to Spoleto on December 26th.
We enjoyed some excellent first courses: orecchiette with datterini tomatoes, stracciatella and pistachios, tagliatelle alla boscaiola and legume soup.

My family and I went to this restaurant for Christmas lunch, we ate very well, the staff were very kind, the owner was a very kind lady and very attentive to customers. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, if you are in Spoleto, greetings and a hug from Martina Francesca and Vito.

A small trattoria in Spoleto…
A restaurant with around 30 seats, in fact it is advisable to book.
Family environment.
Friendly and approachable staff.
Mrs. Rita, the landlady, is an easy-going person and exquisite.
Worth trying are the broad bean and pancetta strangozzi and the legendary "porcona", a capocollo steak breaded and cooked in the oven, it remains juicy and tender.
I would say everything is fine, absolutely recommended to try.

Siamo andati in questa osteria 2 volte durante la vacanza con amici in Umbria ci siamo trovati benissimo personale gentile e alla mano abbiamo fatto subito amicizia e ci hanno trattato molto bene il cibo molto buono e prezzi nella norma..... Consigliatissimo nn si può andare a Spoleto senza passare di qui
