Great experience!
Fried fish like this, with mixed seafood, is hard to find these days!
Delicious dishes, generous portions, and reasonably priced.
The menu changes daily.
The wait is long, even with a reservation, but it's worth it, believe me!
I hope to return soon.

I can't count the number of times I've returned there on purpose.
In short, chef Marco gives you the joy of eating with pleasure in a pleasant environment.
September 18: After the holidays, it's fantastic to return to this delightful place where the food is mouth-watering. There are also new dishes: the pasta with pine nuts, octopus, and tuna (and who knows how many other things) was out of this world... and, along with my LOVED octopus tripe, it made my whiskers tremble!!! (a twisted way of saying mouth-watering).
I've lost count of the number of times... but I still see dishes cleaned without the need for a dishwasher (I think that's satisfying!!)
Update April 18: Wow, it's a real fairytale and a real pleasure to come here: Marco (the chef) is a "happiness dispenser," and you can see it on people's faces when he's finished (with delight) eating.
He was also kind and patient enough to explain to me how to make the pepper sauce: I understood the first step (blend) and the last (like mayonnaise), but 8 steps for a drizzle of delicious sauce make you realize there's a lot of passion and expertise BEHIND it. Thanks also to Francesca and Giulia, the good fairies who propose the menu and who remember ALL your tastes even after a long time (or so it was with me).
March 18: I've been coming here often and willingly now. Today it's #1 out of 1,747 restaurants in Genoa. Imagination and quality. During the week I ate spaghetti alla chitarra with artichoke pesto... and it was culinary ecstasy (cool, cool!!!). Closed on Easter and Easter Monday (kudos to those who prioritize conviviality and the sanctity of the holidays over profit).
Dec 17: L'ostaietta is closed from Christmas Eve to the 8th. The food is always better: superbly seasoned but easy to digest, the fish is nothing short of super fresh and leaves a pleasant sensation. The calamari are incredibly tender, the buridda is a real discovery, and I can even polish off the first courses (something I never do elsewhere). What can I say? I've already booked for New Year's Eve!

It's a pleasure to continue coming and eating at a place like this: the staff is smiling, the food is amazing (and yes... because when you're completely focused on the great pleasure of eating, everything else disappears). The dishes aren't very numerous, but they're delicious. The pasta with squid ink was cooked to perfection (it's the first time I've eaten it with bottarga... and I didn't dare put parmesan on top...) with sweet cherry tomatoes that contrast with the other flavors. Delicious fish... Pleasant dessert. I kept looking around for the other dishes... and I saw only satisfied faces. Well done! Bravi Bis
June 29, 2017: Experience: I knew I'd be back: I ate divinely: the black and white trenette, cooked to perfection, topped with a wonderful tomato sauce, prawns and brandy were luxurious and enhanced by a pinch of chili oil (optional) that was definitely memorable. The tuna steak with balsamic vinegar melted in your mouth. The perch with a light sauce sat on a bed of caramelized onions. The lunch menu offers a wide choice: 3 first courses and 5 second courses (fish). Great attention is also paid to those with allergies or intolerances. Marco (the chef) made sure to accommodate them by preparing something on the fly. If you want something special, call ahead and they'll accommodate you. Reservations are highly recommended because the place is small. You can see the kitchen, it's family-run, and everything is clean (including the bathroom).
Second time... and I can't wait to go back :-D

Delightful place, equally good food, low prices, a casual and fun place to eat traditional cuisine: delicious pasta, fantastic fish, a witty chef, welcoming staff: what more could you ask for?
Close to the stadium where there's also parking, it's 600 meters from Brignole (Canevari exit, where there's the metro) or buses 13, 14, or 15, Moresco 2 stop.

Fantastic experience, I went there today for the first time and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the portions were generous. I was very satisfied and will definitely be back. Well done to all the staff.

If you want some authentic pasta and a wine specific to the area, you've come to the right place! It's a small restaurant with a small terrace between the blocks, intimate... An extraordinary taste! I recommend

Ci siamo recati in questa trattoria dopo aver letto le recensioni dei precedenti avventori. Arrivati alle 13:05, abbiamo dovuto attendere 55 minuti per essere serviti, senza nemmeno ricevere il cestino del pane. I piatti, quando sono finalmente arrivati, erano ottimi e abbondanti, ma per chi è come me gravemente allergico al riso e al mais la scelta è davvero limitata: non ho potuto mangiare nessun tipo di pasta né la frittura, in quanto hanno riferito che viene utilizzata la farina di riso. Mi sono dovuta “accontentare” di una grigliata di pesce, davvero buona.
Per chi non ama il pesce c’è poca scelta: nessun antipasto, un paio di primi e nessun secondo. I contorni non esistono.
Il prezzo è nella norma.
