Beautiful old historic hotel! Felt like I was staying in a museum! My favorite parts were what everyone complained about in the reviews. Loved the old charm and the old carpet wouldn’t change it!

What a great property. 5 Stars all the way. From the moment we were warmly greeted and checked in by Pierpaolo (a super nice gentleman) until we reluctantly headed back to the airport, we were impressed by the attention to detail and service we received. The location was perfect, as you were close enough to see the must-sees but just far enough to enjoy the city's less crowded beauty.

This hotel needs updating. The rooms are drab and beat up. The cable to our tv was disconnected and the nightstand power supply did not work. There is no coffee maker and minimal amenities.

My friend and I stopped for coffee at Doney a few days ago and were very happy with it; it was delicious. The service from the waiter Cristian was incredible! Very kind and attentive… I hope to see him again, haha. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Rome. Greetings from Catalonia 😘

Elegant, historical, but a bit in need of TLC. No irons or ironing board even in $900 per night rooms and suites. So strange. They have a tiny closet on one floor with a rundown board and broken iron. Sadly, that nice suit or dress you brought is going to look shabby. Restaurant is nice but of course terribly overpriced. Breakfast was $39 Eur per person. Just go to a nice café for that. It will be better and 1/4 the price.

We return to the West Excelsior on every visit to Rome, over 15 stays. It never fails to impress us for the high quality service staff, very spacious & well appointed rooms, fully marble bathrooms beautifully modernized for good pressue showers, ample towels & quality amenities & immaculately clean, always. The Spa & indoor pool are quality additional services. Dining room is very comfortable with a lovely outdoor seating area on the historic Via Veneto. The Breakfast buffet is beautifully presented, abundant with choices to fit everyone's diets. Most impressive for us is the excellent service staff from the greeting of the doorman, welcoming reception, helpful concierge desk, housekeeping and room service attention to detail, to the cocktail lounge and bar service in a charming ambiance. The Westin is an elegant Belle Epoque building and carries that old world charm to their refined service standards you rarely experience these days. The staff if excellently professional while extending a warm welcome and apprciation of us being their guest. They acknowledege and appreciate the loyality of being a Marriott member. We love our visit to incredible Rome for the city and equally for our stay at the Westin Excelsior.

The Westin Excelsior is an excellent hotel in every sense. We have returned many times & will continue. The building is elegant from outside to interior lobby, lounges, and cocktail bar, and to the spacious rooms & marble bathrooms. The spa facilities and indoor pool is a wonderful addition. The rooms & baths are spotlessly clean, bathrooms have large showers with good water pressure, plenty of amenities and towels, & comfy robes. The rooms are well decorated for old world charm, very quiet and comfortable quality beds & linens making sleeping easy. The service staff from doormen, reception, Dining & roomservice, housekeeping , Concierge, cocktail lounge & spa area are excellent, caring to be helpful and attentive to detail. They acknowledge your Marriott loyality & appreciate us for being a guest. Breakfast buffet has every choice available, comfortable diningroom, as well as a beautiful outdoor area. The Westin is on the historically luxurious Via veneto, very safe & central to walk to just about everywhere, and to take an evening stroll. The Borghese gardens and Gallery our an easy walk. The Westin also offer great tours with golf carts, which is a fun way to really see Rome's incredible beauty. It is a perfect place to stay in Rome, and a excellent value for comfort and charm.
