Siamo usciti soddisfatti
16/07/2024: We celebrated my mom's birthday. Having arrived from Rome, we entered this restaurant which appears tidy, very clean and with rustic furnishings. The kitchen is open to view and this says a lot about the quality of the product and how it is prepared. We started with a whole series of land appetizers, both cold and hot. Everything is very good, from the mozzarella, to the quality of the cold cuts, to the goodness of the tielle rich in cooked vegetables, expertly prepared. The first ones then were a triumph of tastes and flavors that literally catapulted me back to my childhood, it felt like I was reliving the flavors of the past and being a child again, when on Sundays we went to eat at my grandmother's house. The Genoese made with broken ziti and the potato and provola pasta were S P E C T A C O L A R S, those alone are worth the trip from Rome to Striano. Being a grill restaurant, we couldn't avoid tasting the second course of meat. There is a great choice, you can range from the Florentine cut to the most classic of steaks and you can choose from a myriad of pieces and breeds of cattle, expertly selected by the owner's wife who has a butcher's shop and therefore the experience to be able to offer you the Better. We opted for a sliced parmesan, rocket and cherry tomatoes... and what can I tell you... the meat cooked to perfection melted in your mouth... what can I say... I also greatly appreciated the kindness of the waiters and the friendliness of the hosts. Here, a special mention must be made to the waiters, recounting an episode. My wife, while rummaging in her bag, had dropped 50 euros on the floor. The waiter, with great discretion, promptly informed her without hesitating for a single moment. Now this should be normal but unfortunately this is not always the case. Before launching into this review, I have read many about this place and not all of them do it justice. Anyone who talks about an inappropriate quality/price ratio is either in bad faith or lives outside the real world. We found it very honest and we will certainly return specifically from Rome to let some deserving colleague taste the true flavors of Naples of the past. Well done everyone and thank you for the lovely evening you gave us.
