We chose it based on the reviews and photos of the dishes. We were intrigued by the self-service method, which I must say works. The quality of the food is excellent. Availability, too. We highly recommend it and will return. P.S., I'm the lord of the "well done" sirloin. :-)

Not too much expensive, little bit crowded and nice place… Foods are great!

Truly top in quality and price. Rustic but welcoming and functional place, with a concept somewhere between self-service and an old-time tavern. Few clear rules: you go to the counter, order, choose a table, set it up and sit down. When the innkeeper shouts out your dish, all you have to do is take it and sit back down. The menu, obviously written on a blackboard, offers Tuscan and homemade dishes without forgetting those who are vegan. Abundant portions and for all tastes: first courses, second courses, side dishes and desserts. Not many choices, but 4 dishes for each course are guaranteed. The patience and friendliness for the diners is there and greatly makes up for the absence of table service. Desserts made by them and that taste like home. Small spaces yes, but how much conviviality among benches, paper placemats, wooden beams and stone walls. It's definitely Pisa and..."children of, it was bbono ab****ia!". Advise? Grilled sirloin of beef and grand finale of plum crumble. Price? €50 with 2 second courses and side dishes, beer, dessert and water (hear, hear) free.

A wonderful absolutely non-tourist place. They cook what they got today, that is, there is no standard menu, everything is written in chalk on a blackboard. Semi-self-service. Extraordinarily tasty and very affordable. There is a second hall inside, which not even all locals know about.

A very nice place where the quality of the food is very good. The simple and welcoming location. The service is autonomous and this makes it even more beautiful.

Nice restaurant with an alternative and more eco-sustainable approach. To visit without ruining the surprise, I like it, I go there often.

Unique local place serving amazing food. Highly recommend. Maps took me to the wrong side of the building. Small interior with some community tables and outdoor seating. Admittedly, I was confused by the cafeteria style approach. Place settings, utensils, napkins, and cups are located at the front of the restaurant; grab those yourself and pick a seat! Help yourself to water, utilize the carafs, no limit, free, and refreshing! Food was incredible! Apparently the menu changes, some staples you can count on but menu adapts to create a unique and exciting offering. You order and pick up your food at the counter. Dishes can be dropped off through the doorway left of the counter. The local pasta with pesto was my absolute favorite, very unique pasta only found in this region 😋 Staff and owner were very helpful and nice. Very characteristic restaurant in the alleys of the historic center of Pisa. Home cooking but non-trivial dishes: "sophisticated" recipes without being forced (or "strange"). Small place (it is advisable to book), there is no possibility of parking (pedestrian area), but it is worth the visit. Average cost.

Carne di qualità elevatissima, contorni all'altezza della carne stessa, ed un rapporto qualità/prezzo quasi imbattibile. Una vera scoperta! Entri, ti apparecchi da solo sui bellissimi tavoli disponibili (sia dentro che fuori, almeno nella stagione estiva), servendoti di tovagliette, posate e tutto l'occorrente messo a disposizione, ordini selezionando i piatti desiderati fra quelli presenti nel menù scritto sulla lavagna all'interno, attendi la preparazione delle pietanze, ritiri i piatti e...buon appetito!

Brilliant. We had lunch here. All four of us ordered pasta which tasted delicious. You could choose if you would have half or full portions. Sparkling and still water was free and they had great tasting wine of the house. Good prices as well. You just have to scan the QR code to get the menu and then go inside and place the order. Very nice place to sit down for a relaxing and good tasting lunch.
