I was able to book a table at Moma in Rome - a Michelin Star restaurant that just looking at its menu warps your mind.
For those of you who know the culinary geniuses of the world and those who don't, Moma’s founders are Gastone and Franco Pierini, two brothers who have always worked in the restaurant business.
We started off with the amazing Tuna Crudo and Cuttlefish Tagliatelle. But before they came to the table, they served us with the most gorgeous appetizer bites you could ever imagine. I wish I could remember all the names and details. The lovely red one was duck liver pate if I recall correctly.
Now on to the MAGNIFICENT mains: I had the Chamomile risotto, smoked eel, honey and origan - and the eel had this brilliant crisp on it that popped out in the middle of the risotto bites.
Though we all shared, one got the traditional chitarrine “Gricia”, pecorino cheese, crispy pork cheek - and that crisp on the pork skin was such an amazing accent! The homemade lamb tortellinis were TO DIE FOR. Silky, decadent little bites you never wanted to end.
We then moved on to the suckling pig belly, green peas and mustard jus, which again had the most fabulous crisped skin thins, the Beneventano beef ribs, sweet and sour shallots and cherries, which my son devoured but I did get to taste and flew up to the moon with it, and catch of the day, herbs bread, butter sauce, apples and celery, which my older son enjoyed quite a bit.
Check out the sweets dish they served us up at the end! It disappeared within seconds even though we all thought we'll pass out.
There's a reason it's a Michelin Star restaurant - you experience something unique and you talk about it for years and years - Great job and I hope to visit again!

The food is really good in this restaurant which we tried for lunch. One chef for the more traditional lunch, one for the more creative evening. The lunch dishes are inspired by the territory and therefore use the excellence that our region offers in food production. A tradition studied and expanded to offer new flavors.
We ate and I would recommend all these dishes:
Poached egg, amaranth, parmesan fondue and black truffle;
Powerful mix, potatoes and provolone from Formia (but how good can a very classic pasta and potatoes be!);
Tortellini with lamb, butter, sage and black truffle;
Abbacchio on a base of puree with black cabbage chips and BBQ sauce (a masterpiece);
Babà, Chantilly cream and sour cherries, (unforgettable);
Cold creamed eggnog with brown sugar crumble.
Also prepare to be surprised by small portions.
In the evening the menu expands further. Interesting tasting menus. Professional, friendly service without ever being intrusive. To reach the room you have to go up a flight of stairs, I don't know if there is an elevator. Reservation recommended. Parking is complicated, but the Ludovisi car park is only 600 meters away.

Modern decoration, creative food and welcoming staff in this 1 michelin star restaurant. The risotto with camomile, smoked eel, honey and oregano leaves mentioned by Michelin is really good. The braised veal cheek and the baba au rhum were excellent as well. We liked less the octopus and the sabaion. Nice selection of wines of which we were recommended an excellent one.
