The atmosphere is rather pleasant with these images of friendly old men who encourage us to sit down. We are immediately seated near the counter without giving us a choice, even though there is a quieter room at the back. After ordering, we are served bread without our consent. Naive, we think that it is included. That will be €6 more for two! Despite our complaints, the server does not want to hear anything when it comes to the bill. It smells like a tourist scam. The dishes are simple but good and plentiful. Nothing to say on this point.

Good restaurant near the Forum. Servers are really great and kind. Food is good but not as fresh pasta as you could eat in non touristic areas but still above what you would expect in this area.
A completely average restaurant, typical of tourists. I don't know where these rave reviews come from. The food is for the very hungry, very salty and fatty. And quite expensive. Look for something else.

The best pasta we ate in Rome, better than the Michelin-starred restaurant we went to, which had nothing special and offered little. Haha, this one was good and offered a lot.

The beer was great. The service was magnificent. The Carbonara was fantastic. A very good address. The only downside was the price advertised excluding tax.

If you’re in Rome and want an authentic meal where flavour, warmth, and atmosphere are more important than flashy formality, Nonno Melo is a great pick. It feels like a place where locals would go — hearty, unpretentious, satisfying. For fans of real Roman pasta, friendly service, and beautiful but cozy surroundings, this is one to remember (and return to).

Mi grupo estaba nervioso por venir aquí ya que estaba justo en el corazón del complejo turístico de Roma, pero viendo que teníamos dos horas para matar antes de ir al Coliseo, nos detuvimos. El personal de camareros era muy servicial, ya que nos topamos con algunas frases básicas en italiano para pedir, y la comida en sí era muy mucho mejor de lo previsto. Tenía una carbonara que podía competir con cualquier carbonara en cualquier lugar, y todos se fueron extremadamente satisfechos. Tuve un buen momento con el propietario mientras trataba de proclamar "posso pogare!", pero luego no pude seguir en absoluto. ¡Recomiendo!
