Meid in Sud In Roma

The place is a bit small, but the quality of the food is excellent, very good fish.

I went to this restaurant last Saturday evening around 10:15 PM after hearing great things about it, and indeed the pizza was as good as everything else. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered, we asked to sit at an available corner table, but were told it was ready for the next day. The room was occupied by other diners. In the end, we sat where we wanted. We ordered still water, and the person who greeted us was quite surprised that we both only ordered still water. After the delicious appetizer, I was finishing my meal when he literally took my plate and the paper bag of leftover bread away in a flash. He then appeared from the room and asked us for coffee and dessert, somewhat insistently, and we replied that was fine. It was 11:20 PM. After three minutes, while we were talking, he appeared again and asked for the bill. We paid and left. There were still people in the restaurant, and two very polite young men were setting the tables. This seems inappropriate to me. We literally felt kicked out of the place, and it wasn't even midnight. Everything was very good, but the service was terrible. This man shouldn't be in contact with the public. He lacks the basic skills of hospitality, courtesy, and professionalism. I definitely won't be returning, and I don't recommend it. What a shame!

Very nice place. Very clean and welcoming. The food is definitely quality. Good pizza (in Piazza Santa Chiara), fried appetizers too, and the pan-fried arugula with pine nuts was delicious. The service was truly courteous and friendly. The prices were more than fair. The only flaw, and that's just me, is that it's too hot. But then again, I feel hot everywhere, and maybe for others that could be another plus.

Very friendly staff. Very good Neapolitan pizza, shame about the mozzarella, which isn't great. Fried foods and risotto are very good. I recommend it for casual dinners. :)

I ordered seafood pasta — shrimp and clams, everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. I really liked the service — polite, quick, and with a smile. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy, perfect for a relaxing dinner. After the meal, I used the service shown in the attached photo to count the calories — it turned out to be super convenient and fast! I now recommend everyone try it out; tracking your nutrition becomes so much easier and even enjoyable.

For now, I'll review the pizza: EXCELLENT!! The best traditional Neapolitan pizza in the EUR area!! The dough is good and, above all, it has flavor, not like so many inflated pizzas that taste like nothing! Tasty toppings, especially the real mozzarella, good and, above all, in the right amount! The fried appetizers are good, only the frittatina should be a little less bland... 😉. The restaurant is welcoming and cute. I'll be back for a second round of seafood, I promise!! Promise kept, and as expected, everything was delicious!!

Superb food! Service was so-so, but it was very busy, which is partly understandable.

A relaxed evening with friends. The dishes were very good, especially the stewed octopus. The pizza dough was excellent, truly flavorful. I didn't have the courage to order the paccheri alla Meid in Sud because they say it's for two, but it's actually for four. The desserts were excellent, ranging from baba, cheesecake, and so on. The only downside was something dry to pair with a passito or sweet wine.

But how good is the food? The seafood trofie is top-notch. You have to mop up the sauce with bread.

Great place, delicious, well-seasoned dishes in typical Neapolitan tradition...
