Really enjoyed our evening here. The food was delicious and there was a good menu with good choices. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The wine recommendation was very good and we enjoyed the wine. We returned 2 days later and had the same wonderful experience. Sadly we must return home so cannot return to Matisse but would highly recommend it. Grazie.

My roots are in Salento, but I live in the north, and every summer I can't leave without dining at Matisse. It never disappoints; everything is perfect, with a menu that's meticulously crafted in both quality and presentation. The staff is professional and attentive. They never disappoint; every time it's a pleasant and tasty discovery. Well done.

An intimate and refined location, with attentive but never intrusive service. The written (!!!) no-smoking instructions on the menu were highly appreciated, a rare example of civic duty. Quality ingredients, including lobster with fresh pasta, an off-menu dish recommended by the waiter, were truly delicious. The appetizer, a very welcome discovery: cuttlefish "a tagliatella," with a texture similar to pasta, paired surprisingly well with melon, celery, and lime jelly. Highly recommended, and especially suitable for couples.

“A very beautiful place, with a well-kept garden. The staff is friendly, but cold and unsmiling. The service is slow, and the food disappointing: dishes that are beautiful to look at but lack flavor. I was very disappointed with the raw fish, which lacked any seafood flavor; the oysters were expensive and tasteless. The cream of fava beans with chicory was good, but served cold. Poor value for money: too expensive for the quality, in my opinion. Unsatisfactory experience, I won't be returning.”

Finally, after a month of vacation here in Salento, I ate real fish!
I had dinner with my daughter this evening and was pleasantly surprised: everyone welcomed us warmly, but with kindness and politeness (which isn't a given, especially in these parts).
In a month, we visited several restaurants in this area, from the local trattoria to seaside restaurants in Otranto, Santa Cesarea, Castro, or Porto Badisco. BUT, the quality of the fish and the freshness of the ingredients are the only ones I've found here at Matisse!!
Well done guys, and congratulations to the owner!!

In my opinion, the best restaurant in the area: high-quality ingredients, impeccable service, and a stunning, romantic location. I'd always meant to try it, and I finally did last night. The quality/price ratio was excellent.

Wir haben ein hervorragendes Nachtessen im Restaurant Matisse genosssen. Unser Tisch im idyllischen Garten war top, das Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam und das Essen war Weltklasse. Wir haben einen feinen Fisch, hergerichtet in Salzkruste, gegessen und dazu einen herrlichen lokalen Weisswein getrunken. Alles war sehr sehr gut und wir werden bestimmt dieses Lokal bei unseren nächsten Süditalien-Ferien wieder besuchen.

Splendida location, abbiamo mangiato benissimo, piatti molto raffinati e curati nei minimi dettagli! Abbiamo mangiato i carciofi (spalati!!) tagliolini (davvero anche questi buonissimi ) di secondo il calamaro ripieno molto buono! In fina abbiamo preso i dolci , ma il gelato fatto da loro era un’altra cosa rispetto i gelati normali consistenza particolare buonissimo!! Camerieri molto professionali e gentili. Raccomando vivamente!! I prezzi sono normali rispetto la cura e la squisitezza della portata!
