We just had a unique weekend! As soon as we arrived on Vulcano, we rented the legendary Mehari from Paolo and immediately headed to our peaceful oasis on Vulcano Piano! Maria Tindara is the most authentic place you can find on Vulcano! It's outside the port, true, but it's perfectly located halfway between Gelso and the port!
The dinner was spectacular, an explosion of flavors! Save room for the desserts because they are incredible and definitely made with love! Gilberto was attentive to our every need, even recommending a truly unique spot with a breathtaking view of the islands and the crater rim to your left—a spot that rivals the climb up the crater the day before, and definitely less tiring!
The rooms are simple and authentic, and in the evening you're only accompanied by the chirping of the cicadas! We'll always come back!

We decided to dine here on Wednesday, and tonight, Sunday, we did it again; the atmosphere is welcoming and serene.
The dinner and the prompt and friendly service make it easy to fully enjoy the excellent food.
The three of us had two antipasti dishes, fried flowers, and a mixed fry, both of which were both delicious.
The first course of the day was paccheri with porcini mushrooms, walnuts, and amberjack, and a sliced long wing steak, which was equally delicious.
They have a wide selection of wines; we ordered a generous AA Cortese.
I won't even mention the desserts, they're all absolutely worth trying.
Thank you so much for the excellent music selection!
Also, if you don't have a car, there's a free shuttle to get there.
5 moon rating!

A pearl in the heart of Vulcano.
A place where tradition blends seamlessly with innovation, offering a sublime experience for body and mind.
From the colorful, knowledge-rich dishes of Gilberto and his kitchen team to the expert hands of Valentina for facial and body treatments, they offer a soothing experience from the modern, frenetic pace of everyday life.
A place of silence and tranquility, an echo of the Vulcano plain that invites us to slow down. Mariatindara, Il ristorante e la inn, is the place where you can fully experience the Vulcano culture, passed down from generation to generation, where time is king.

I didn't stay at the inn because I didn't discover this delightful establishment in time, just steps from the port of Vulcano, but far from the hustle and bustle and pleasantly cooler. I sampled their cuisine for dinner and found it to be welcoming, courteous, and carefully selected, high-quality ingredients, with attention to detail and innovation while respecting tradition. Highly recommended!

The place is far from everything and can only be reached by public transportation. The rooms are spacious and clean. We found a refrigerator, TV, hair dryer, and kettle inside, but we couldn't use them because the plug didn't fit the outlet 😅. The service wasn't the best.
They only serve breakfast (buffet) from 8:00 to 10:00, not allowing those with special time restrictions to enjoy it, even if they'd paid for it. We had a 7:50 ferry and needed breakfast (ALREADY PAID!) by 7:00 at the latest, even if it was just a coffee or a latte. We were told we could have it at the counter, but at 7:00, everything was still closed. At 7:10, other guests asked us to hurry because the shuttle would take us all to the boarding gates together. Our requests had already been communicated upon arrival and reiterated the day before. They went unheeded.
We were catapulted into port without even a chance to get a coffee.
Okay...
Good, but not great.

A presto quindi.

Cena in coppia. Atmosfera piacevolissima, locale curato e servizio perfetto: ti senti veramente seguito e coccolato! Cibo sempre ottimo : grande qualità di ingredienti dell’isola, ricerca e innovazione, nel rispetto della tradizione. Dolci imperdibili. Conto in linea con i prezzi a Vulcano. Veramente imperdibile. Consigliatissimo!
