Close to the medieval heart and the historic center of Gaeta, in a characteristic little square overlooking the sea and the entire gulf, there is this small place that delights with a variety of delicious dishes, creating contrasts of flavors and combinations of products in the dishes that the owner and chef (Giuseppe) deliciously enjoys making with the freshest products, a beautiful and excellent selection of wines and craft beers, it is not a restaurant, I would like to point this out for those who don't know it and for those who perhaps expect a real own restaurant, you dine outside in the small square and in the adjacent courtyard of its relevance, rightly in the summer periods and sunny days, for the winter period it has two small internal rooms with very few seats but well structured, the service in my opinion is a little limited and slow but it is at the disposal of the owner so nothing to say about it, what I personally don't tolerate is I don't like to see, it's the employees who smoke during working hours even if apart and moreover who after smoking don't wash their hands, for me this should be avoided, the owner Giuseppe and his wife, that is, the owners, are two wonderful people, very kind and very nice. Congratulations all and for the success that you have achieved over many years, I recommend everyone who goes to Gaeta to go to Mare Fritto.

Good local fish. Good food and good service. If you’re looking for a good lunch or dinner of quality fish then this is the place.

Fried sea is our favorite destination when we come to Gaeta. We always had a good time with both the staff and the always plentiful food, there is no reservation but I highly recommend it

Cibo buonissimo, soprattutto i primi, si sente tutta la qualità! Personale simpatico e cortese, veloci nel servizio. Se dovessi tornare a Gaeta, andrei volentieri di nuovo a pranzo qui. Per quanto ci è piaciuto abbiamo voluto fare personalmente i complimenti allo chef! Raccomandatissimo!

Overall quite good food, pasta cooked too al dente, good cod morsels but I would call them morzelle, appetizer quantities. Good and welcoming service.

ottima cucina locale ambiente molto semplice e accogliente se vi formalizzate sui piatti di carta cambiate ristorante ma vi perderete una esperienza culinaria veramente genuina e di buon livello.
