11/12/2025: I visited Trattoria Re Carlo V and, overall, the experience was very positive. The atmosphere is informal and typically Catanian, the staff is friendly, and the service is more than prompt. The horse meat is undoubtedly the restaurant's highlight: tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, truly one of the best tastings you'll find in the city. On a less positive note, however, was the involtino, which was unfortunately a bit undercooked inside. Nothing irreparable, but a little more attention to cooking would make it worthy of the rest of the menu. Overall, a trattoria worth a visit, especially for horse meat lovers.
