Truly excellent food, exquisite service, and the interaction with the friendly and humorous owner was also appreciated. I recommend everyone to visit the inn.

Simona and Luca warmly welcome you to their inn, nestled in the charm of the ancient castle. Each dish is an explosion of refined flavors, presented with art and passion. Among the centuries-old trees of the park, the walls, and the historic tower, the atmosphere is enchanting. A place where history, nature, and cuisine blend together in a truly commendable experience, a must-try. We will definitely return.

Simona and Luca are friendly and kind. The food is excellent, locally sourced. Despite being traditional cuisine, the dishes are beautifully presented and refined. We opted for their menu, which included several courses: appetizers, a first course, a second course, and dessert... all plentiful and excellent. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

We stumbled in more or less by chance. What followed was a fantastic experience: we were served a total of eight excellent courses, but there was only one menu. The chef was very naturally friendly. It was lovely to sit outside in the garden under the huge tree. A wonderful experience.

They were so kind, they stayed open one Sunday evening just for us. Coincidentally, they were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The food was good, the atmosphere was lovely, and the owners were very friendly. Go!

We happened to pass by during our vacation and discovered this intimate restaurant with delicious cuisine and incredible hospitality (even towards our two furry friends). Very good, we'll definitely be back!

We didn't eat, but I still wanted to leave a review for your kindness and helpfulness. Yesterday we went to visit Rocca de Baldi Castle and stopped for a coffee, even though the place was packed "for a baptism" and they were very busy, they still found time to make us coffee. Thank you again for your professionalism.

One of those places that you find by chance but that remain in your heart. The location is beautiful, you eat among the frescoed vaults of a castle or outside in the garden. The food, in Piedmont, can only be excellent, especially in those parts but the real wealth of the place is the very warm management, which makes you feel immediately at ease: a young couple (he who works in the kitchen and she in the dining room), you feel a bit like a guest in their home. They offer a very rich tasting menu, which varies according to the season and the availability of fresh local products and which accompanies you from the appetizer to the coffee. Despite the large quantity of courses, the service is always fast and efficient and does not bore us.

Despite the ongoing service, the staff was available to serve 4 coffees at our request. Well-furnished place with a shaded park. The tranquility of the tables on the square is incredible, to be enhanced

Payarin

02/10/2025: The owners are very friendly and ready to answer any questions. The rooms aren't that great but you can still sleep well.
06/09/2025: We stayed at this hotel for six nights. There are several points to mention in this review. First, the beds are appalling. In a double room, we found a metal bedstead with a wooden plank over it. The slightest movement made an insane noise, making it difficult to sleep at night. Furthermore, having installed two single mattresses, they shifted during the night, often resulting in a person being sandwiched between them. The hotel website states that "all" rooms have a balcony/terrace, but this is not the case. The hotel does not have an elevator, so elderly people or those with mobility issues had great difficulty climbing the stairs to their rooms. There's little choice for breakfast, as it's not a buffet. Otherwise, you'd find an empty croissant per person (I think they made it themselves), a small piece of cake or tart they made (I think), and some toast with packaged jams of your choice. Then you can choose a drink from the bar (coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, etc.). There's no choice for a savory or healthier breakfast. The portions at lunch and dinner are very generous, with many good dishes, but for those staying at the hotel for several days, things get boring because the dishes are always the same (green tagliolini with mushrooms, braised meat that was offered every day for both lunch and dinner, cooked vegetables always peas with carrots, green beans, and sometimes potatoes, and so on, but always the same dishes). If you asked for a simple salad because you no longer wanted the same dishes, it wasn't available. Basically, there was no option to have any fresh vegetables (side dishes) or to order fruit (there wasn't even watermelon, no fruit at all). Being a property that claims to be pet-friendly, I would have expected at least a small dog area (fenced off) where you could maybe stay when you're not out and about with your dog (there is enough space in front of the hotel to offer such an area). Some finishing touches are definitely missing (hair dryer, hangers in the bathroom, a shower gel holder inside the shower stall). Some rooms don't even have a closet and have a simple A metal structure covered with a DIY-style plastic sheet. They don't even have a small table or desk to place small appliances. The hotel offers a beautiful view, and there are lovely trails nearby for walking through the woods. Given our experience with the rooms, I honestly don't know if we'd return, as we didn't sleep well due to the uncomfortable bed. It's a shame, because they could offer an excellent choice given their convenient location.

Trattoria dei Cacciatori

02/09/2025: The food is excellent. This is the trattoria of the past. During the week, the menu is limited to one appetizer, one first course, one second course with side dish, an addition that can be a small omelette, a bottle of wine (white or red), bottled water, dessert, and coffee. So, the fixed menu. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, it doubles in size, and everything is delicious. The tablecloth and napkins are made of white cotton. The cost during the week is the same as a sandwich and a beer at the bar; it increases on weekends and holidays... but always moderate. The only drawback? In the summer, mulled wine... no ice or ice buckets... but you can survive. Make a reservation because it's always full.
26/08/2025: On Saturday evening, after a day spent trekking in the mountains, we decided to have dinner at this trattoria after evaluating several other restaurants in the area. We read that the restaurant offers several fixed-price menus weekly. The one we were interested in for Saturday dinner consisted of 5 appetizers, 2 first courses, 2 second courses, dessert, and coffee (I specify that it is not à la carte, so you don't choose; you eat whatever the chef offers that evening). The fixed price per person is €25, and given the freshly prepared food, without preheating, all guests begin dinner at 8:30 PM. Having clarified these simple, but fundamental, restaurant practices, we moved on to making a reservation by phone (this is recommended, as is reading the menu and serving times for lunch (12:30 PM) and dinner (8:30 PM) to avoid misunderstandings or incorrect expectations). A very characteristic restaurant with wooden interiors and furnishings, as soon as you enter you grasp the values of Piedmontese tradition and perceive the flavors of their excellent cuisine under your palate. Home cooking that is expertly and simply enjoyed, dish after dish, allowing us to savor all the dishes offered and even have a few second helpings kindly offered by the owner (honestly, I found him kind and helpful; he always responded politely). The dinner continued in a calm and serene atmosphere where one could breathe in the ancient tradition of Piedmontese trattorias that the place still preserves excellently. Home cooking from the appetizers to the first courses, the second courses (all with flavor combinations that married perfectly with each other, enriching and tantalizing the palate), homemade bread and finally dessert and a good coffee to close the meal full and satisfied. Free parking in the forecourt covers about fifteen cars. Outdoor terrace for dogs that are not allowed inside. I understand from the owner's responses to some negative reviews that often people, unlike us, go full of expectations and without considering the type of place they choose, which perhaps does not fit their target and their needs. Expectations. I'd also like to add that the bathroom is a bit tacky, which some people say is not very clean. It's true that it should be kept clean, but those who use it should also be careful. My deepest sympathy goes to the owner, and my compliments again for the excellent management and excellent food. We'll definitely be back to eat there. We like tradition, and their food, too. My only regret is that smokers don't move a few steps further away (since they just can't resist a smoke) and that they let an unpleasant smell of smoke into the restaurant. We were seated near the counter in the small room near the door.
