We were incredibly lucky to get a reservation at Locanda Belvedere. All the tables were booked that evening—as they are almost every evening in the summer, we were told.
The service, the ambiance, and, not least, the outstanding food made it easy to see why. You sit beautifully under old chestnut trees and can enjoy the stunning scenery while your meal, served promptly but without any rush, is enjoyed. The service, which also included English speakers, was consistently warm, professional, and attentive. Of all the wonderful dishes, the fettuccine al ragu and the roast chicken impressed us the most. The desserts, such as the tiramisu and the panna cotta, were also exquisite.
A little gem nestled amidst the magnificent scenery of Lake Garda, yet far removed from the tourist crowds.

Very nice setting with a lovely view of the moraine hills. The service was attentive but a bit slow. The food was "no"; the pike was bland and came with a measly slice of polenta; the rib eye steak, cooked as requested, was flavorless and very stiff. I wouldn't return.

One might expect a more spectacular view given its name, "belvedere," but ultimately it's limited to a view of the surrounding countryside—nice, but nothing special.
The food is good, but the prices are rather high for such a remote location. Ample parking is available.

A restaurant surrounded by greenery, serving traditional yet sophisticated local dishes. Reasonable wait times and friendly staff.

We visited at the end of July 2026 and ended up here somewhat by accident. Parking is ample, and we found a spot easily. We ordered two beef steaks and one veal steak, along with ratatouille and local wine. The steaks were very good and large, priced at €19 each. The wine was delicious. The atmosphere was great. We'll definitely be back :)

Unfortunately, the quality of the Florentine steak was terrible. Tough, overcooked, and flavorless. Luckily, they gave us the option to switch dishes, but the sliced steak and horse fillet weren't very good either. It's a shame, because with a fireplace and a grill like this, they could really do great things.
It's certainly a historic restaurant, and their pasta dishes and chicken are always popular traditional dishes.
The view is beautiful, especially at sunset.
My advice is to improve the grilled meat.
Overall, a traditional restaurant that could improve without going overboard.

One of the best meals my family had during our one month tour throughout Italy at a fraction of what we paid in Florence, Rome, Siena, and Venice. The food rivals some of the best fine dining restaurants in our hometowns of Los Angeles and Napa, California. Casual rustic atmosphere that has a small playground that our 10 year old daughter enjoyed.
Chef Stefani personally greeted us and made the best recommendations. The local pasta and filet are heavenly. With desert and 2 glasses of wine, the meal was just 70€, which would be easily $200 in Napa or LA.
There are very few Americans that make it to the region, which makes for a great authentic experience. Each meal in the region of Molise was actually delicious. We would come again just for this restaurant.
We give it an 11 out of 10!
