Not merely a meal, but a beautiful experience that will live long in the memory. It’s hard to describe how different and excellent a visit to L’Elisir del Poeta is and I don’t think my writing skills could even begin to do justice to this place. Just go and immerse yourself in this tiny, intimate space, enjoy the simple, fresh, delicious food and feel the love and care that Andrea and Barbara pour into every aspect of what they do here; it is truly poetic.

A very special dining experience. Andrea and Barbara are clearly very passionate about sharing their food, and they can tell you exactly where almost all of ingredients come from. The food was delicious, service and atmosphere were excellent and it was very reasonably priced for all of the amazing food and wine you get. The restaurant is small so you should call ahead for reservations. Thanks Andrea and Barbara for a memorable evening!

Wonderful experience, we were guests of Andrea and his splendid wife for lunch together with a group of American relatives and we had a wonderful time. Andrea delighted us with his kindness and passion for his work by explaining the peculiarities of their foods. Thank you very much, we will forever be grateful for the experience we had and for the great impact we had on distant relatives.

We had dinner in this small restaurant in Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Andrea accompanied us all evening with his infinite kindness and masterly care in explaining the dishes. Barbara cooked the dishes we fell in love with one after the other.
The chickpeas cooked in milk and rosemary were as simple as they were good.
Recommendation for anyone who wants to have an experience of quality local products!
