Excellent cuisine with excellent raw materials at honest prices

Seafood restaurant. We tried several dishes. It was quite good but far from our best experience. The seafood was good quality. But the portions are rather small and the plates rather plain. Only salad accompanies the grilled seafood and fish. The menu indicates that most of the fish and seafood may have been frozen. Everything we tasted seemed quite fresh. We tried a white wine. The food was very good, but the lone waiter made the experience bad. He didn’t know they had a wine list, even though they have a wall of wine on display. Then, he forgot to put in the order for one of four in our party, so they got their meal when the rest were almost finished. After that, he just stopped serving us. My guess is that it was kitchen staff, filling in for a waiter that didn’t show up. No other explanation fits.

It really felt like a local restaurant. Traveling alone, I wanted both carbonara and tomato pasta, so I asked for a smaller portion, and they gave me half. Carbonara is usually salty, but it was, but paired with wine, it was delicious. I visited when I felt like I was going to burst, but I still enjoyed it all. The portions weren't small, though. I had two types of spaghetti with a half bottle of house wine for €20. I had a red wine with little body and tannins, and it had a nice fruity flavor and wasn't overpowering, making it a nice light meal. I think Korean supermarkets offer better wines than the 10,000 won range. Oh, and last but not least, on Sunday, except for one other table, everyone was local. A few tables seemed to be regulars. If I had stayed another day, I would have gone back to try other dishes.

We had an incredible dining experience at Le Virtu in Tavola. My husband and I ordered a dozen oysters (even though they’re normally part of a mixed platter, the owner kindly accommodated our request), and they were absolutely fresh and delicious, just as good as the ones we had in Venice. We also shared and enjoyed the Tonarreli ai frutti di mare, homemade pasta loaded with mussels, clams, shrimp, and prawns. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were outstanding. The owner was kind enough to have split our dishes before bringing it to us. Beyond the food, the hospitality truly stood out. The family who owns the restaurant is warm and attentive, and it’s clear they care deeply about their guests. This was one of our best meals in Rome, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for fresh seafood and a genuine, welcoming atmosphere.

Excelente comida, especialmente pescado. El aperitivo de tres platos fue increíble, al igual que los espaguetis con almejas. Si te gusta el pescado es un restaurante increíble sobre todo por su precio.
