Prices are a bit high but commensurate with the excellent location on the Appian Way, but I didn't appreciate the lack of tablecloths, the minimal portions, and the paccheri cacio e pepe pasta with courgette flowers (almost absent), not al dente but practically raw.

A historic restaurant in an incredible location in ancient Rome. The atmosphere reflects the entire history of Rome as it was in the past. This restaurant, located on the Appian Way, offers a beautiful view, exquisitely prepared dishes served by knowledgeable and professional staff, who can offer suggestions on what to eat.

Great place.
Elegant but not cloying.
The waiters were empathetic and knowledgeable, especially the sommelier.
The cellar, housed in an ancient Christian catacomb, is worth a visit. See photo.
After two Franciacorta bubbles, we ordered Mediterranean spaghetti, ravioli with osso buco and a Parmesan and asparagus mousse. Then came Iberian and Black Angus suckling pig with friatielli.
For dessert, a spectacular ginseng ganache with peanut ice cream.
Very beautiful location. Prices are high, but not excessive. I definitely recommend it.

Expectations for a historic restaurant were disappointed.
The ingredients used appear high-quality, but they don't stand out on the plate, thus failing to justify the high price. Furthermore, the portions are small, almost like tasting samples. The staff, in my recent experience, was generally courteous, but one of the waiters tended to overemphasize the choice to order a single dish as an appetizer.
