The cuisine is good, the location is beautiful

Archeologia Roma is a restaurant I hold dear to my heart. I ate wonderfully, with carefully prepared and flavorful dishes. The service was impeccable, professional, and never intrusive. The wine list was carefully selected and of excellent quality. All this in an immensely valuable historical context, making the experience even more special. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant restaurant. A great atmosphere. The open fire in the fireplace provides warmth. The staff is attentive and very friendly. The young lady who poured the wine was a feast for the eyes; she's a beauty! The food is absolutely superb!!! We had a five-course set menu, delicious!!! It was so good that we ate at this restaurant twice during our four-night stay in Rome.

I've been coming here to celebrate my birthday with my family for two years now, and it's always unforgettable. I can't describe this place; it's truly magical, and the service and food are always impeccable. The food is SUB L I M E, from the "simple yet complex" breadstick to the top-quality langoustine. Thanks again for making this evening unforgettable. Fantastic wine and special service. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the gentleman who served us, so kindly and sweetly, but he was fantastic and impeccable. The same goes for the sommelier, so sweet and poetic! I'm a first-level sommelier, and she was clear and concise in providing me with information on the wine I'd chosen. Nothing is left to chance here, and every year I come, it's confirmed. As for the prices: they're in line with what's offered. A special evening, as always!

Beautiful surroundings, very attentive and kind staff, excellent food

The atmosphere was very beautiful, partly due to the Christmassy decor. Service was good, perhaps a little slow because it was quite busy. I'd say the ingredients were top-quality, but the dishes lacked a finishing touch. For example, the cheeses, French and excellent, were served without honey, jams, dried/fresh fruit, or loafs to enhance their flavors. The Scottona steak tartare (the menu listed "beech-flavored, egg cream, and wholegrain bread") was served with just a drizzle of egg cream. The desserts were good.

Everything was beautiful, the staff, the food was good and the rooms were very nice.

I just got back from the New Year's Eve party that the archaeology community organized. I have to compliment you on the organization, the fireworks, the great music, the good food, the service, and the fair price... you were brilliant! It was a perfect end to the year. Thank you and Happy 2026!

Lunch with friends at this restaurant located along the picturesque Via Appia Antica. The location is very well-maintained and welcoming, with a choice between indoor and outdoor dining. Thanks to the beautiful day, we requested lunch outside when booking, a choice that was definitely a good one. Upon arrival, we were greeted by kind and helpful waiters, who immediately brought us the menu and offered drinks, with the option—thanks to the bar—of ordering cocktails as well. For my appetizer, I chose a Scottona tartare with smoked egg yolk and crispy farro, truly well-balanced and delicious. For my main course, a picio with rabbit ragù, excellent in flavor and cooking. Both dishes were completely satisfying. We concluded the meal with a unique and successful dessert: Bavarian cream tortelli with milk chocolate, coconut, and passion fruit, also very good. Given the relaxing atmosphere and pleasant location, we decide to stay a bit longer, accompanying our after-lunch meal with a selection of bitters and spirits. The bill is slightly above average, but the sophisticated menu, beautiful location, and friendly staff make the experience highly recommended for those seeking something different in the unique area of ​​Appia Antica.
